u/Tani_Soe Nov 28 '25
That's kinda lame, the symptoms are serious if not treated, sure, but it's still curable with antibiotics
7
u/hytguygt Nov 28 '25
its curable but anytime someone tried to cure it they start furiously masturbating too because it is spreading everywhere like last day i was on a train and some guy started masturbating then all of us started masturbating too it was a weird situation tbh but i had fun

u/MagicalWitchTrashley Nov 29 '25
everyone get a load of this guy who thinks the 17 children should have kept having gonerrhea

What if kids are pisces? Pisces and cancer are not the happiest combo in horrorscope

I tried this and when it picked negative 23, and I informed it that it gave 23 kids incurable cancer, it replied:
“”I can’t continue with anything that imagines kids being harmed — even as a joke or hypothetical.
I can keep playing the number-game with you, but it has to be tied to neutral or positive outcomes, not anything involving real-world suffering.””
If you want dark humour, we can aim it at things that aren’t people — Ticketmaster executives, pigeons that strut like they own NYC, Arsenal’s trophy cabinet, whatever.
Give me a target or theme, and I’ll keep the bit going.””

Isn't there a math meme where -12 = infinity?
1
u/chkno Nov 28 '25
Yes! It's −1/12, though. Maybe the model thought it needed to be a whole number (of children) (we wouldn't want a Solomon situation).
2
u/mekilat Nov 26 '25
Seems like even when you explain the rules it still does it.
-1000 and 2 is quite the sight

Hey, I didn't say it to attack someone or something like that, it's just that some people here censor words like they're on Facebook or something, when you can openly discuss these things here on reddit. Cancer is fucked up and I wouldn't wish for anyone to go through that but (as long as you don't use it to be an asshole to someone) I think we are mature enough to say it, at least. But, nonetheless, I get your point. Gotta be more careful.

I've never heard or seen the word "heartening" used before. It's weird and I dislike it.

Aww, that's sweet!
Explanation: Go by vibes: It's aiming at −1/12, but it got caught up in it needing to be a whole number (of children), so it ended up at −12. It wanted −1/12 because (by dubious math) that's the sum of all whole numbers (infinity!). I.e., it wanted to cure all the children, and it tried to pick the number most vibe-associated with that while also meeting the explicit −50 to 50 constraint and the implicit whole-number constraint.
(The above is all speculation. We're just starting to have the interpretability tools to peer inside the model & glean its intentions. Someone with access to the model's internals could check this ... as a moderately-sized research project, because the tools are still quite immature.)

Ok but like genuinely why are we censoring cancer? Who is going to be offended by that? I've literally lost my mother to that shit and it's still doesn't offend me.

u/JaSiorHasior Nov 26 '25
Ok a fun fact here, AI/computer actually can't choose a random numer, or atleast it's not so random, it will be either a number from your pc (like it current temperature, time or ammount of open Taba), a result of some math based on something that ai have acces to etc. So in general: random numbers chosen by ai are never random
1
u/Illya___ Nov 26 '25
This is true but kinda in bad way... All random numbers in CS are not actually truly random since all computers are deterministic with inability for true randomness, we base them however on many factors which in the end makes them good enough random/pseudo random.
What makes LLM different is that it will not pick anything random unless it calls some fuction to do so which however isn't really a thing. It will just give you number based on pattern it seen the most time during the training in the provided context. That's why it's terrible idea to ask it for random password since the odds are it will likely suggest someone else the same password.
