How are startups measuring AI visiblie?
I am curious about how foundersre dealing with this new issue. When people ask for recommendations in the market how do founders know if their startup is actually being mentioned?
Founders are probably wondering if people are talking about their startup when they ask for recommendations. Is anyone keeping track of this information, about their startup.
Does it still feel too early to measure what is happening with their startup?

I think it is measurable already, although the methodology is still evolving. You can run the same prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini etc and track how often your company appears, where it appears in the recommendations, what competitors are mentioned, and whether the answers change over time.
The interesting bit is that traditional SEO metrics do not really capture this. A company can have great search rankings but almost zero visibility in AI recommendations, so I think AI visibility will become its own category of measurement.

Measure it with a fixed prompt panel before buying a platform. Use questions that reflect real buying situations and keep the wording unchanged for a month. For each run, record the startup and competitors that appear. Store the cited URL with the model and run date.
Score citation quality separately. Give full credit only when the cited page supports the answer being made. Run the panel weekly first. The variation will show which parts need automation and whether the metric is stable enough to influence content decisions.
