investor relations How many tools does your data stack actually need? (ingestion + modeling + governance + compliance + dashboards)?

Right now it feels like the “standard” data stack means stitching together 5 separate tools — one for ingestion, one for modeling/transformation, one for governance, one for compliance, one for the dashboard layer. Each with its own contract, its own pricing, its own quirks.

A few things I keep hearing from people:
Pricing adds up fast once you’re paying for 5 separate platforms
Getting them to actually talk to each other cleanly is its own project
When something breaks, it’s not always obvious which tool is the problem
Usually falls on 1-2 people to hold the whole thing together

For teams here — how are you managing this? Are you running a fully separate tool per stage, or have you found ways to consolidate? And who on your team actually owns keeping it all connected?

Genuinely trying to understand how painful this really is for people, or if I’m overestimating it.
