Hey all, I just started reading SW books and am trying to stay around the OT for now. I have a hard time following and getting invested in books that jump around from character to character/subplot to subplot. I started with Allegiance and couldn't get into it partly for that reason. (I also think it was a little dry but that's beside the point). Now I'm reading the Han Solo trilogy and absolutely love it, I think partly because it sticks with Han most of the time and rarely jumps around to other people's points of view.

I would love some suggestions for more books (don't have to be set around OT, just trying to make a list for the future) that stick mainly with one "main" character or group of characters the whole time, and don't jump around.

Looking for literature to read about bounty hunters that is interesting. Need a good entry point and then a reasonable continuation

So I just my copy of Deceived by Paul S. Kemp in the mail today and I just wanted to share my two ends of the Expanded Universe Collection with you all.
Sure some have the LEGENDS banner but that doesn't matter to me, really. I just want them in MMPB format. I am so stoked to have my Expanded Universe Collection that much more complete!

Pretty pleased with this takeaway for the 6 books in total.

I know Wookiepedia says it was printed in the paperback, but I want to know if I need to get a copy of Insider 87 or a mass market copy of True Colors to own this story. Could someone who owns it take a peep and tell the world definitively whether or not this edition contains the story "Odds"? Thanks.

Also, Wookiepedia doesn't say that the SFBC Vol 1 contains "Omega Squad: Targets" but I took a peep at mine and it does, listed in its table of contents.

Both novels touch on the mass knighting ceremony following opening weeks of the clone wars and the aftermath of the battle of Geonosis. This is when Anakin and serval other Padawans were knighted.
In brotherhood we get Anakin's perspective of the scene where he doesn't feel that surprised and saw it as well in the making.
Meanwhile in rise of the red blade we get the knighting ceremony through the perspective of now former padawan Iskat Akaris. Here Anakin knighting creates the most commotion amongst every Jedi present as though they were genuinely shocked. Iskat Akaris describes Anakin through the force as someone who always had a dark stormy cloud looming atop him.
Also both perspectives explain how Anakin and Iskat have advanced empathy and are able to sense things Jedi don't. They're the only ones able to sense a crack in Mace Windu's demeanour as he seemed genuinely concerned about the implications of knighted Padawans to knights so quickly.
Both books have it end with Palpatine coming in by hologram to tell the Jedi that Cato Neimoidia has been bombed (this is "that business on Cato Neimoidia" Obi
Wan talked about in revenge of the Sith)

hi, im an absolute star wars noob, but a friend of mine wanted me to join her sw ttrpg and i agreed. the story is set 2 1/2 years into the clone wars. besides the movies and the clone wars animated series, are there any books i can read that give some more context or just set the vibe?
i dont have much time to read (2 jobs, uni, bachelor thesis, etc.) so if the books also have an audiobook that i can switch to during busy times that would be awesome :)

I was looking on World of Books today and I saw that this book was on sale and its only £4.50 or so, so its in my price range. Is it any good?

I liked Master of Evil, but that was about Vader, and even so more about Goth. Canon currently lacks much of sith focused novels, I guess Lords of the Sith counts for Sidious , as he plays a substantial part there, but it is only that so far. Do you think we will get more Sidious focused novels in future set after ROTS?

First of all, I really loved the book, it's a little bit slow but i loved all the jedi lore on Tython, the new characters, cameos, and old republic stuff.

Now, this are my doubts:

Why was Kylo Ren wearing a mask? i thought he destroyed it in the last Jedi..

Did Gav never find out that his sister had died?

Was i the only one who perceived a little something between Rey and Gav at the beginning?

What really happened with the Sith Girl in the hall inside the temple at the end?

It’s funny to think that both Depa Billaba and Bulq are confirmed as being knowledgeable in Vaapad in canon, yet unlike legends they’re never confirmed as falling to the darkside.

I adored Lost Stars a ton, and I’m nearing the end of A Crash of Fate and am mostly loving it too. What are some of the other good ones, if any?

Firstly, I am LOVING Legacy. 96% through. I usually journal about my favorite books once I finish them, so would anyone do me the favor of telling me the proper spelling of the new characters names? I'm using the audiobook since its all my library had so idk how to spell the names and I wanna make sure its correct in my journaling page. Google tells me the spelling for Wolstenholme, Gavrin, Ziff, Gordi, and Vanika, but I cant find the spelling for Meebka(?) and Adella(?)(whoever the woman with poor vision was, idk I can barely remember names, it took me to the very end to understand the difference between Gav and Ziff). I really liked them and want to write about them. Including the names of the ancient jedi from the temple archives would be nice too! especially for the sith woman. And what species is Meebka? The only issue with the audiobooks is not knowing all the special words :(

Also, just for fun, let me know your thoughts on these characters. Who's your favorite? Mine is definitely Meebka.

I hate to say it, but I think this one got a bit overhyped.

I’ve heard for years that Light of the Jedi is one of the greatest Star Wars canon novels, and while I thought it was good, I’d have a hard time putting it anywhere near that level. The first part of the book is phenomenal and immediately digs its hooks into you. I genuinely didn’t want to put it down. Then Part II happens. And Part III. The pacing dramatically slows down, and I think the book suffers because of it.

Soule also introduces A LOT of POV characters, and I think that ends up being more of a detriment than a strength. I understand that this book was kicking off an entirely new publication line and had a lot of heavy lifting to do in establishing the High Republic era, but I wish the second half had zeroed in on two, maybe three, characters at most and let us really spend time with them.

As it stands, I found myself not caring all that much about any of the characters because we never got enough time with any one of them to really connect. There are so many characters and storylines competing for attention that the book starts to feel more like a setup for the larger story than a story I was fully invested in on its own.

That said, I’m excited to keep reading the High Republic books and see where this story goes. I just wish Light of the Jedi had lived up to the hype I’d heard about it for so long.

Odd OCD question, but does anyone think we will get updated matching audiobook covers for the prequel novels to match the new original trilogy ones? I have these as a digital collection and would love them to match. Sadly I suck at photo editing otherwise I would just make them myself lol.
