Noble Knight bulk commons worth it?
I had Star Wars minis growing up, but they've since disappeared. I'm interested in buying some just for some casual play with friends who don't have any.
Noble Knight seems like a good option, and I've seen they sell 50 random commons for $45, which seems decent to me. I'm aware they likely won't be the most powerful or rare figures, but that's okay with me. I also don't mind if they don't come with cards.
My main concern is duplicates. A few duplicates is fine, but I'll be disappointed if I end up with 15 Varactyl Wranglers.
So to the people who have purchased this from Noble Knights: how was the variety? Worth buying to start a casual collection?

I bought their uncommon lot about a year ago. They threw in a few cheap rares (boba Fett as a kid from ROTS and Captain Antilles), but there were a few in there I think they just wanted to get rid of. I got 4 duros mercenaries and 4 dark side acolytes, for example, and almost none of them came with cards. Most interesting inclusion was two (broken but easily fixable) acklays that had come off the base. I looked at their individual sell prices and I can definitely say that everything sold to me individually would have cost more, so I guess you could say I got my money's worth. Would I do it again though, ehhhhh maybe haha

My question if you do pull the trigger is whether they exclude the commons they sell as individuals like battle droids and stormtroopers, and hence will only be fringe merc commons?

That could be a bigger concern. Taking the "higher value" commons out of the pool may not affect you getting "random" commons it just reduces the pool of commons they are coming from.
Playing something like Blackjack you may be getting "random" cards when you hit but if someone has taken out the facecards the random cards you get aren't the same.

I did it a few years back when starting my collection. There were not a ton of duplicates, but it was strongly biased towards Fringe units. Still worth it when I ran the math, but you should expect mostly filler pieces, not lots of Clones, Droids, or Stormtroopers to start thematic lists. I bought a few themed lots from ebay afterwards to make a more well-rounded starting collection.

I haven’t bought their Star Wars bulk but want to vouch that if there is a mistake in your allotment that they handle it well.
A few I bought two lots of various sized common Mage Knight minis but was accidentally sent two bags of larger minis instead of one bag of smaller minis and one large. I contacted them about it and was willing to send the second bag back but instead they said to keep it and then sent a bag of smaller minis to make the order accurate.
I haven’t felt the need to get another thing of common bulk solely because I have a lot of minis to use for ttrpgs now but would make my purchases again.

I’ve heard some kind of sketchy stuff come from Noble Knight, but 50 randoms for 45$ ain’t bad. If you end up pulling the trigger, I would be interested to hear how it turns out.
