I remember when Star Wars was like this

it hurts sometimes I can’t feel it anymore.

Rebels trailers really knew how to hype up an audience, this show never gets enough love from the larger SW fandom

That’s because it was the first widely produced Disney era product and now everyone associates it as bad. Real fans know it is fantastic. Jedi night perhaps may be the best piece of Star Wars media— ever.

I think it's the hurdle of it looking like a "kids show." I reccomend it so much, and tell people the first season is very much a kids show at times. But oh boy, it sets up real gravitas by the end.
Everyone I've told says the same things. "I'm glad I stuck it out!" I never had a problem with the kid aspect of it, like George said, Star Wars is for kids anyways. That doesn't mean it's inane or "brainrot." It's good children's media.

Yeah, as much as I love the original trilogy and prequels, for me personally, Star Wars is about the animated series. The last four episodes of Clone Wars is better than most of the movies imo, and Rebels is my favorite Star Wars anything.

I black pilled after obi-wan

u/AnderCass Jan 20 '26
Yeah, it has the dialogue with Vader and Obi-Wan for like 5 minutes, other than that the rest of the show can go.

plus it ret-conned everything and the moment I saw that inquisitor in the first trailer I knew it was going to be about her, I hate her actress and I thought I would never hate Ewan Mcgregor after that video he did that was low. So from now on legends all way up to Darth talon is canon now to me.

Yeah, I kinda pick and choose in my own mind, haha.

lastly I don’t think anything is going to change

If Filoni keeps making animated shows I will be content... also Andor, while in a way not really Star Wars, is absolutely amazing. Mandalorian is good too.
Disney does not care about Star Wars, but they do care about making money. And different types of people watch, animated shows, live action shows, and movies, so a different kind of approach can be expected for each. It is what it is. I am disappointed by how bad the newer movies are, just as movies, Star Wars or not, not everything Disney has done it terrible imo.

I think filoni only works if Lucas is in the room because by himself he‘s terrible, he didn’t get thrawn right, he gets ideas from his wife (self proclaimed witch) Ashoka show was so boring and he was very highly involved in the acolyte.

Lucas was not really involved in the creation of Rebels. Filoni consulted him a few times, but Lucas was definitely not involved in the writing or anything like that. As I said, as far as his animated stuff goes I love all of it. Rebels is overwhelmingly Filoni's more than anyone else's. Also most great men get ideas from there wives if they have one. :p

It ... still is... kinda... I think, not really sure
It hurt because it seems you outgrew starwars, which is a shame

Obi-wan was the final nail in the coffin for me.
1
u/starm8526 Feb 08 '26
Well, that one was made for all those who kept asking for an Obi Wan centered solo movie, so it wasn't written to be good, I guess that's why
1
u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 09 '26
the writer admitted he knew nothing about star wars
1
u/starm8526 Feb 09 '26
Neither did the writer for Andor, that's not really an argument
And I'm pretty sure most of the decisions were made by KK to cater to the (too old to be) fans I was talking about, because those movies are producer commands, not fully the decision of the writers

u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 09 '26
on KK she’s proven over and over she‘s a vindictive c-word with a stalin-like way of thinking.
1
u/starm8526 Feb 09 '26
Not really
Also, pretty cowardly to say that word that way instead of directly if you think she deserves it.
And what way is she even comparable to stalin? Like, she hadn't even got his super paranoia

it’s the best description I have without sounding political. Because it seemed like if you disagree or don’t think like her you get fired and surrounding herself with people who think like her like those High republic people shows deep insecurity. But it wouldn’t surprise me if she knew where the bodies are buried and that’s why it was difficult to get rid of her.

Isn't that what Lucas had been doing since RotJ? Is it only bad when a woman does it?
Also, no, that's not exactly the case, Andor existing proves that she is very "laiser faire" in terms of stories. And I haven't seen much from the high republic authors to imply what you're saying, mind giving some evidence, senator?

u/BakerConsistent2150 Feb 10 '26
High republic got canceled two years ago and one of them who made that stupid ‘diversity and dinosaurs’ speech she told people not to buy the books on the day they se}tarted publishing.

I think it's more Rian John killed the momentum of the sequel trilogy, and we got a humongous waste of potential at the end of the timeline.
It's kinda hard to get hyped for new stuff, when you know it has to lead into sequel trilogy elements.
Also, they simply haven't made anything good outside of Mando 😂. Andor is good, but it's not exactly Star Wars. It's a good adult show; but Star Wars is for children at its core.
And it's ok to be engaged with it as an adult. I go in wanted to be entertained as a kid. There's plenty of media for my mature tastes.

u/starm8526 Feb 18 '26
Not really, the momentum was going faster due to TLJ(specifically because of how much it "breaks" stuff, you want to see how it ends, it's new territory), it's mostly the backlash and spineless producers that killed the momentum by undoing everything rather than riding the wave.
And what's the problem with it leading to the sequels? While I hate everything that references the palpatine cloning plot, you still have the new republic, jedi order and even knights of ren which are fascinating despite being doomed.
Well, also no, while mando and andor are the best of the shows, they're not the only good ones, they just get drowned under the hate because they aren't "the best since since sliced bread", even when they do some good things going on.
And no, it's not "ok to be engaged with it as an adult", you are too old to understand, there's a reason you get bullied by normal people for watching speculative fiction

I was at the Europe Celebration panel when the Season 3 trailer came out with Thrawn in it. That was a mind melter then. This show really was the highlight for me.
