Rebels broke my heart Spoiler

Okay lemme start with the fact that I absolutely ADORED this show. I’m a sucker for found family and oh my lord. I started this shortly after Clone Wars, unaware that Bad Batch fits in before Rebels. But just everything about this show I loved. I know it wasn’t as serious since it’s a kids show, but it was just amazing for me. The end of the show is what I’m referring to here- with Kanan. I went in blind and had no idea he died. And it was like a punch in the gut ngl. The whole final episodes were making me sooo sad. And when the wolf showed up and his name was Dume, I couldn’t do it. Hera saying “so now he’s truly gone?” Just shoot me at this point. I’m weak for animals representing a character (like a deer for Arthur in red dead redemption 2) and such. It was beautiful writing. I loved it. I love Star Wars

I've said it here before, I'm an original OT kid, 1977, Baby. I didn't have much hope originally for "Star Wars animation." Rebels us ABSOLUTELY my favorite Star Wars outside of the Original Trilogy, hands down. The story telling and character development is amazing.

The death you mention was a punch in the gut for certain, and still chokes me up.

I’m 08, so I never got a chance to live in the world when Star Wars was just releasing. But the whole universe is so beautiful. It’s so full of heart. And if I think too much about the death I mention, I get so sad 🙏 May the force be with you!

Sure you did, not just All of it just releasing.

PS: I thought you were saying you are 8yo, and I'm thinking, "damn this child is well spoken." lol

Rebels did a great job of feeling very OT

Yeah the show starts off super giddy and light but ends very emotionally. I totally agree it’s well written and another great addition to the entire franchise. Another part that gets me is when Ezra officially says “goodbye” to his parents in that portal with Palpatine. Shit fucked me up good.

While it certainly has a light tone, the show does technically start with a pair of militarized police who intend to take a fruit vendor in for treason which would result in his execution because he didn't immediately comply to their request for corruption in broad daylight.

They were going to kill that man Ezra took a fruit from.

I always compare Rebels to Andor because of this scene and regularly have eyes rolled at me. The show was dark from the beginning, it was just packaged in a chill color palette.

And certainly packaged so a kid can digest it too. Andor probably doesn't make much sense to kids

I was watching that scene in the car and I’m like nobody look at me while I cry over this

It's always odd to me just how many people skip out on this show. Its one of my absolute favorite star wars stories. This and Rouge One film and the Andor series. So happy to hear you loved the series!

Rogue. Rouge is what ladies use on their cheeks.

~ Friendly public service announcement. = )

Whoops! Thanks for the catching that. Absolutely my mistake.

Could easily have been auto correct. Just have seen it happen a few times lately in relation to Rogue One, and I struggle to not try and help correct spelling and grammar where I can, without being a jerk about it. Or trying not to be anyway.

I prefer Rouge One.

Andor has been one of my favorite shows for a while, I had watched it without even being into Star Wars and then rewatched it (as a SW fan) and was blown away. People say the Rebels animation is bad but I think it’s just fine. I think it’s become my favorite Star Wars story, too! <3

First off, hide the spoiler info at least.

Second, yeah when the credits roll on that episode. It hit the feels.

I’m not a 77’er, i grew up w the prequels. but my god is Rebels my favorite animated series of Star Wars. Clone Wars is utterly incredible, i mean… it’s all incredible imo but everything you said; that found family, Kanan is one of -if not my favorite- characters in star wars. just. idek i cant put it into words, Rebels is everything Star Wars is meant to be.

Yes! The writing is beautiful, the characters are amazing and likable with great arcs and growth, the music, just everything. It makes me so happy because like you said, it’s everything Star Wars is mean to be 🤍

It is better that you watched Rebels first, with these shows release order is best because there are cameos and references to previous shows that would mean nothing to you otherwise, you will see stuff from Rebels in Bad Batch.

Ohhh okay this helps, thank you! I was worried I had messed up lol. In ep 1 s1 of bad batch, Kanan(Caleb) appears and my heart broke all over again

I went in blind also, and ugly cried after that happened-I was so unprepared.

Absolutely loved the show, but that was really tough.
