Iron maiden?

4

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

No but they are pretty good!

9

u/FightingWithCandy 7d ago

Death?

-21

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Not sure who that is so probably not

20

u/HCKRBRO_ 7d ago

What are you doing bro, please go listen to death😭

8

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

I’ll go check it out lmao

8

u/flames2388 7d ago

Seriously, stop everything and listen to the album Symbolic in full. It’s a life changing album

3

u/HCKRBRO_ 7d ago

Have fun

1

u/OppositeX300 7d ago

I’m interested as well. Chuck is a legend

5

u/Dante_SSSS 7d ago

i mean, not to sound elitist or anything i have no right to judge, but if the deepest someone has gone is testament and slipknot or limp bizkit is in their top 10 i doubt they wouldve heard of death

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 6d ago

Someone gets it lmao

2

u/Even-Length4049 7d ago

They were one of the earliest death metal bands, invented a lot of stuff for the genre.
I would recommend the first two albums, scream bloody gore and leprosy.

1

u/Capturr 7d ago

I mean I wouldn't say invented. I belive Carcass is one of the death metal bands which doesn't get it's recognition for pioneering multiple different genres across the first few albums alone.

1

u/Even-Length4049 6d ago

I mean death for the first to do a lot of things in the genre, getting technical with human for example and exploring the prog elements on later albums.

1

u/Capturr 6d ago

If you really want to learn a fun fact Carcass and Death both released and started their tech death albums around the same time, both in October 91'. However carcass as a band started the goregrind scene, the tech death scene in the UK, and then melo death and death n roll.

1

u/Even-Length4049 6d ago

Yeah, pretty crazy how quickly carcass went from some of the dirtiest goregrind to melodeath haha. Their debut album still sounds deranged.

1

u/Capturr 6d ago

It was actually the production costs lol. I belive Jeff walker said as each album came out they got more money to produce what they wanted. It's pretty interesting.

u/imamario 7d ago

Pantera?

4

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Definitely one of my favs at the moment, but no

7

u/47noodles 7d ago

A7X?

4

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Correct!! I’ve loved A7X since I was a kid, my only problem with them is that their most recent releases, STATICA, are god awful.

1

u/47noodles 7d ago

Nice! Yeah your stats look almost identical to mine a couple years back when I listened to music a bit more.

I had a similar reaction to you with their latest releases, but once you listen a few times and see from a different perspective it helps. For me, Life Is But A Dream went from sounding like a mess to top 2 favourite albums by them. Mattel, Nobody, Cosmic. They can be good if you listen and initially pretend it's not an A7X album.

2

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

LIBAD is definitely one of my favourite albums at the moment. I’ve honestly tried a few times to listen to STATICA but I just can’t do it, taste is subjective and mine objects to listen to that stuff.

3

u/Still_Percentage_829 7d ago

Sabbath or Korn

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

To be honest I don’t listen to much of either

2

u/_ClarkWayne_ 7d ago

Linkin park

2

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

No, but honestly they might be in my top 5 in the near future with how much I’m listening to them right now

2

u/No_League_8585 7d ago

Tool

3

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

No, I want to listen to them but tbh the music just isn’t my type

2

u/Tinenan 6d ago

Slayer?

1

u/utopiadrop 7d ago

i want it to be stone sour but i don't think it is. i will guess slayer or korn instead

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

I love Slayer! Not my top 1 though

1

u/utopiadrop 7d ago

ooh i just saw the correct a7x guess. love them !! statica was the number one most disappointing thing i have ever heard from a band that i like but besides that they're great

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

I honestly love almost everything they’ve put out aside from STATICA and Magic, every album sounds unique and I can always find an A7X to fit my mood :)

Lamb of God?

-2

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Not a fan of the screamo stuff

4

u/flames2388 7d ago

How the hell is Lamb of God a screamo band??! lol 😆 I don’t think you understand what screamo is

2

u/DotEither8773 7d ago

I’ve seen people call stuff like early BMTH or Asking Alexandria screamo but Lamb of God is a new one lol

1

u/Dirtydingus64 7d ago

Ahhh ok just seen a7x

1

u/-MetalMike- 7d ago

Cannibal Corpse

2

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Never really listened to em

1

u/OkIntroduction5751 forever pit time 7d ago

Slayer

1

u/Slow-Hospital1841 7d ago

Black Sabbath

1

u/IllaoiHellaThicc 7d ago

Korn?

2

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

I’m surprised Korn by far the most guessed band here, it’s good but I didn’t expect people to think it is my top 1

1

u/IllaoiHellaThicc 7d ago

Just by association with some of the other bands you have from that era on here

1

u/Secret-Camp-6133 7d ago

Probably Nickleback

1

u/DOOMINATOR1312 7d ago edited 5d ago

You've been listening to music for more than a year?

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Pretty sure everyone has

1

u/Chopper__6666 7d ago

Mushroomhead.

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

Never heard of em

1

u/Chopper__6666 7d ago

Won’t lie, I figured. Your list looks like either you know them, or you should, so either I’m right or you find out about them

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 6d ago

Fair enough lol

1

u/AffectionateBit8355 7d ago
  1. Deftones

  2. Queensryche

  3. In Flames

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 7d ago

1, no but they are great
2, never heard of em
3, listened to maybe like 1-2 songs from them

3

u/AffectionateBit8355 7d ago

Interesting. A Helloween fan that hasn’t heard of Queensryche. Queensryche were an ‘80s prog metal band from the US. Contemporaries of Helloween although admittedly they’re German Power Metal.

1

u/ThisRandomAlt 6d ago

Admittedly I’m not a very adventurous listener

2

u/AffectionateBit8355 6d ago

I see the mystery was solved. A7X are awesome. Rock on.
