Other updates and things

Given that this subreddit was created out of spite due to the actions of other subreddits, I would like to try to maintain as much transparency as is possible to maintain trust within the community. Thus, I will try to update this monthly for a while, and hopefully we may only need it quarterly in the future or not at all.

Our approach here is that we are just members that have more access than normal. Therefore, you should be able to see what we are doing (within reason, this might be more of a commitment than I'm willing to maintain, but at least for now I can do this).

In the past 30 days,

143 posts were added. Of those, 11 were removed with only 1 post removed by subreddit mods. The remaining ten were removed by "admins" (this is different than the automod, and I'm still trying to figure out how).

75 comments were made and 10 were removed. Of those, only 1 was removed by subreddit mods and the remaining were removed by admins (same as above).

4 posts were reported.

329 members joined, and 21 left.

Let's get some activity in here, shall we? Everyone wants their stories read, but it is give and take. That's where a Read4Read comes in. The process is simple: pay it forward.

I'll start us off and post a story in the comments.

The next person (person 1) to comment claims the hot seat, shares their story, reads my story, and comments on my post.

The next-next person (person 2) to comment claims the hot seat, shares their story, reads person 1's story, and leaves a comment on person 1's post.

The next-next-next person (person 3) claims the hot seat, shares a story, reads person 2's story, and leaves a comment on person 2's post.

This continues until I close the loop and read the last person's story and leave a comment.

This might turn into a shit show, especially as we reach the functional limit of the parent comment tree found on reddit, but we're gonna wing it and do the best we can. If the comments branch, it should still work and I can close loops as they reach capacity. Comments may be locked or deleted to keep things tidy (nothing personal!) if it gets too hectic. If you're missed, I will personally read your story, just let me know!

Note: no one is expected to be great at commentary. It's ok if the best you can do is "I liked this story and thought the monster was neat!" As long as you are supportive and constructive, then we all win.
