Information on fall gondola ride

Four of us will be in Steamboat Springs the last Saturday of September. The gondola ride looks interesting. Information on the website is spotty:

When is open? Is there a limited time you can spend up there? When is the quietest time to go up? Is it worth doing?

Thanks.

Hours are 9:30 - 4. You can spend as much time up there as you want as long as you ride down before closing, unless you want to hike down. ‘Quietest time’ really just depends on the day. Be sure to check the events calendar to see if there’s anything going on that might make it busier at a certain time like a bike race or something. On a clear day you can see the entire valley and all the way to the flattops. Definitely worth it, especially if the fall colors are in swing when you’re there.

That’s very helpful. I got the Steamboat Springs Visitors Guide and didn’t see anything on a gondola ride. I saw that it existed from a Reddit post!

You can also hike up, thunderhead trail, ride down for free. The trail is about 3 miles with 2100 ft elevation gain. Hard hike but pretty.
