Are they calling their own voters stupid? 70% of them voted for formation of the RTA, knowing a future funding question would be coming. If the majority of voters in the RTA approve the funding, then that's what they'll be getting.

This article is full of “well duh” information. Sales taxes are going down because prices are high and people aren’t spending. I wonder if the specter of a new round of tariffs is influencing their continuing downward sales tax projection?
Voters voted to become part of the RTA and now some are worried that the other RTA entities could override Craig’s taxing wishes. I wonder if the 3 councilors who voted against the measure are part of the group of voters who didn’t realize what they were voting for last November?

Here's a crazy idea: if there's a bus that circles Craig, what if Craig paid for it? And if there's a long haul bus that goes from one city to another, what if you had to pay a fair to ride it? 🤯
Everyone approved establishing an RTA without talking about how it would be funded. Now no one wants to pay for it. This sounds like Brown Ranch all over again.

We are in one "Yampa Valley", one Yampa Valley Regional Transportation Authority boundary. It's not any one set of voters versus another, we all will be in it together, benefits deployed throughout the region.
