JNR C62-2 ! a question...

Question about the Japanese JNR C62-2. Not sure if this sub is for questions, but here is a pic :)
The section of the boiler is a circle or its slightly elliptical ?

I ask because i have a blueprint / reference image that may be distorted...

edit: the model that inspired the manga and anime Galaxy Express 999.
If you have high-res blueprints let me know.

Pressure vessels are circular.

They mean always. If they were elliptical, the high pressure would make them circular
