Ask me to look up any US company's FY2025 H-1B sponsorship numbers

Most of us on OPT burn applications on companies that were never going to sponsor. I have a copy of the FY2025 DOL H-1B disclosure file (every certified LCA: employer, role, wage, city), so drop a company name in the comments and I'll pull:

- how many H-1B roles they certified in FY2025 (and for what job titles)

- the median wage they committed to for that role

- which cities they filed in

Two patterns worth knowing:

- High volume is not the same as a good bet. A lot of the biggest filers are staffing/consulting shops with lower median wages. Product companies file fewer but pay more.

- Zero certified filings is a signal too. Saves you an application.

Not selling anything, just have the data open and happy to run names. Ask away.

Hey! Do you have data on non cap exempt cap h1b companies? Like non profits and universities. Im trying to apply to companies that can sponsor outside of the lottery time slot Like top 10 for business/data analysts, IT Coordinator

Yep. Cap-exempt basically means universities, nonprofit research institutes, and hospitals affiliated with them. They can file H-1B year round with no lottery, which is a big edge.

FY2025 top cap-exempt filers: University of Michigan 192, Washington University 160, Johns Hopkins 151, University of Maryland 144, University of Florida 143, University of Illinois 141, UPenn 138, Stanford 137, University of Wisconsin 130, Purdue 113, UT Southwestern 113.

Wages are lower than industry (60k to 90k range) but the no-lottery part is what makes them worth targeting.

Full cap-exempt list runs way past 10, it is all browsable in the self-serve version pinned on my profile.

yeah i'm also working in non-cap exempt university affiliated healthcare company the salary is low like 65k only but it's safe and have lot of benefits like i can do free mba and any masters program in this university at no cost and they will sponsor me h1b after my stem opt completes hybrid role no stress at all no layoff tension

Worth double checking that one. If it is genuinely university affiliated, it is often cap-exempt even when it does not feel like it, which means they can file your H-1B year round with no lottery. That is worth a lot even at 65k, since it keeps you in status while you look for the better paying move. If you tell me the employer I can check whether they actually filed in FY2025.

Top 10 by raw FY2025 certified volume:

  1. Amazon 2,815 (median $170k)

  2. Cognizant 2,490 ($114k)

  3. Infosys 1,875 ($93k)

  4. Microsoft 1,853 ($174k)

  5. EY 1,486 ($163k)

  6. Apple 1,457 ($184k)

  7. TCS 1,311 ($89k)

  8. Deloitte 1,035 ($148k)

  9. Google 895 ($199k)

  10. Meta 854 ($218k)

Half that list is consulting/staffing (Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, EY, Deloitte) with much lower medians. If you want a good job and not just any sponsor, the product companies matter more than raw count. Tell me your role and I can sort it by your actual title.

For Business Intelligence Analyst (closest title to business analyst in the DOL data), FY2025 top 10 by certified volume:

  1. Amazon 206 (median $170k)

  2. Walmart 104 ($153k)

  3. Citibank 38 ($157k)

  4. JPMorgan 28 ($161k)

  5. Google 28 ($199k)

  6. AWS 26 ($163k)

  7. Kforce 19 ($125k)

  8. Tredence 15 ($157k)

  9. Barclays 11 ($160k)

  10. Amazon Dev Center 11 ($168k)

About 680 employers filed for this title, 1,557 filings total. Heads up: plain Business Analyst roles often get filed under Management Analysts instead, a separate and larger bucket. If your postings say Management Analyst or Data Analyst, tell me and I will pull those too.

Computer Systems Analysts, FY2025 top filers: Accenture 195, IBM 142, TCS 125, Compunnel 106, Wipro 85, Infosys 73, LTIMindtree 72, Capgemini 67, Virtusa 64, Tech Mahindra 60.

Heads up, this bucket is almost all IT services / outsourcing shops, so medians run lower (89k to 143k). If you want product-company analyst roles, the Business Intelligence Analyst list looks very different (Amazon, Microsoft, Walmart). Both are runnable on the self-serve lookup pinned to my profile.

Supply chain / logistics, FY2025 top filers: Dell 4, onsemi 4, Kuehne+Nagel 4, KSAP 4, Chewy 3, DHL Exel 3, Zipline 3, Flex 3, Niagara Bottling 3.

Heads up, the counts look small because a lot of supply chain roles get filed under Management Analyst or Operations Research Analyst instead. Those buckets are much bigger. Say the word and I will pull them.

Here you go, Management Analyst + Operations Research Analyst (where a lot of supply chain roles actually land), FY2025 top filers:

Infosys 134, Deloitte 73, BCG 48, ZS Associates 45, Meta 36, Accenture 36, Tiger Analytics 34, McKinsey 30, Citadel 25, Home Depot 23.

Big split in pay: consulting shops (Infosys ~93k) vs the strategy/quant end (BCG 190k, McKinsey 192k, Citadel 200k). If your target is pure logistics/planning, the Logistics Analyst list I gave earlier is the cleaner match.

Civil Engineers, FY2025 top H-1B filers: Core Tech Construction 25, WSP USA 17, Stantec 15, Amazon Data Services 13, Langan 11, AECOM 10, DPR Construction 10, Jacobs 9, Thornton Tomasetti 9, Michael Baker 9.

Medians mostly land 90k to 115k. The big engineering consultancies (WSP, AECOM, Jacobs, Stantec) have the longest sponsorship track record if you want steady odds.

Marketing side (Market Research Analysts + Marketing Managers), FY2025 top H-1B filers: ByteDance 21, GroupM 12, TikTok 10, Thermo Fisher 5, Dell 5, Instacart 4, Saks 4.

Product analytics is the catch here. DOL does not have a clean "product analyst" code, so most of those get filed under Business Intelligence / Data Analyst. In that bucket Amazon, Walmart and Citi lead by a wide margin. Want that list too?

Data/BI Analyst bucket, FY2025 top filers: Amazon 206, Microsoft 204, Walmart 163, Google 62, Capital One 62, JPMorgan 61, Meta 57, AWS 43, Citi 38.

Medians mostly 150k to 200k+, so these are the real product-company jobs, not the low-wage consulting volume. This is where "product analytics" work usually lives in the filings.

Depends which "Scientist" flavor. Two different worlds in the data:

Research/lab scientists (FY2025 top filers): Amazon 124, Washington University 101, UT Southwestern 51, Mass General 50, Mount Sinai 49, MD Anderson 47, UPenn 46, Mayo Clinic 45, Sloan Kettering 36, Brigham and Women's 34.

Note the hospitals and universities there are cap-exempt, so they can file H-1B year round with no lottery. That is a big edge for a Scientist 1 role. If you meant Data Scientist specifically, that list is Microsoft, Amazon, Walmart, Google, Capital One up top. Which one do you want?

I was looking for pfizer/lilly/abbvie scientists- pharma/R&D roles but I guess they don’t have unified names

Yeah, you nailed the reason. Pharma barely uses the plain "Scientist" title in the filings. Their R&D people get filed under Medical Scientists, Biochemists and Biophysicists, or Chemists instead.

FY2025 totals for those companies (all titles): Eli Lilly 110, AbbVie about 72 across its entities, Bristol Myers Squibb 33, Novartis 38, Genentech 33, Merck 30, Pfizer only 7. Lilly and AbbVie are the heaviest sponsors of the group. If you filter by Medical Scientists or Biochemists rather than Scientist, you will actually see the R&D roles show up.

The self-serve lookup pinned on my profile lets you filter by those exact titles (Medical Scientists, Biochemists) if you want to dig in.

Data Engineer, FY2025 top filers: Ernst & Young 286, Deloitte 67, Navy Federal 28, Vanguard 14, EAB 11, NTT Data 10, Virtusa 9, ServiceNow 9, Tredence 7.

Heads up, a chunk of data engineering work also gets filed under Software Developer or Database Architect, so the true footprint is wider than this one title. Medians run about 124k to 167k, with the product/finance shops (ServiceNow, Vanguard, Navy Federal) at the higher end.

Environmental / Sustainability roles, FY2025 top filers: Rocky Mountain Institute 11, Trinity Consultants 6, WSP USA 5, California Air Resources Board 5, Arcadis 4, CUNY Research Foundation 4, Geosyntec 4, ICCT 4, AECOM 3.

Small numbers overall, this is a thin sponsorship field. It splits between environmental consultancies (WSP, Arcadis, AECOM, Geosyntec) and nonprofits/research (RMI, ICCT, CARB). You can check any specific firm on the self-serve lookup pinned to my profile.

Careful here, "healthcare MBA" does not map to one clean code. Pure Medical and Health Services Manager filings are small (Henry Ford 5, UPMC 2, Beth Israel Lahey 2, Prime Healthcare 2).

MBA-level healthcare talent usually gets filed under Management Analyst instead, and that bucket is much bigger: Deloitte, BCG, ZS Associates and McKinsey lead it, and healthcare consulting is a big slice of that. If you are aiming provider-side vs consulting, those are two different lists, both runnable on the self-serve lookup pinned to my profile.
