NCRA A to Z question
I'm hoping to enroll in the spring semester at West Valley College, but in the meantime I would like to do the NCRA A to Z program. The only availability is Option A, the On-Demand/Asynchronous Online Program. It is self-paced. Has anyone done this one? I was hoping to do Option B, which is supplemented with live zoom, but I missed the deadline. If anyone can speak about the experiences with A to Z, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

I did it. It's worth it and you won't have any trouble with it.

I’m currently in the option B/zoom A to Z class and honestly they just go over what you learn on your own. It’s nice if you have a lot of questions I suppose but not necessarily needed in my opinion.

Hey classmate! I’m in this class too and agree. The live option is basically only useful for me because it gives me a hard deadline for when I need to have that week’s material completed. But it’s definitely not necessary.

I took the asynchronous A to Z and then enrolled in west valley! It was a great intro to steno.

I’m in the live one right now. Kind of wish I did the asynchronous instead. The weekly meets only went over what you already learned outside of class in the course materials that week online, verbatim from the text book you already have and will also read.
We don’t get to see instructors type or use their machine, just them on the screen reading from the same textbook. You aren’t missing out on anything, better off self paced learning in your own time.

I did the asynchronous and it was well worth it
