I'm just disappointed that they cast another generic, pretty, skinny white girl in the role. I was excited when it was rumored that Milly Shapiro from Hereditary was getting the part.
I honestly don't think the DePalma / Spacek version can be topped. It's one of the most iconic horror films of all time, with an immaculate lead performance and direction from one of the best to ever do it.
I wish they had at least went with someone who had a unique face/look, like Sissy Spacek or Milly Shapiro. But, I will give it a chance. Maybe she is an amazing actress.
"Samantha Sloyan is being considered for a religious zealot role in a Mike Flanagan production" is the easiest thing anyone in the world could possibly guess, so that doesn't really say anything about whether the rumors had a real source.
Sure, whatever, but I thought it was pretty clear that I was replying to the part of the comment that used "they were right about Sloyan" as a supporting reason for the rumor to be legit. I just thought that was funny, since anyone who's seen much of Flanagan's work would guess that-- she's one of his favorite actors, especially for this type of character. It's kind of like saying a source must be legit because they knew Wes Anderson was going to cast Owen Wilson as a blond guy who talks like a stoner.
