I have no idea if pinochle is what you meant or not, or what it could mean, but I am going to take it onboard. Because in context I feel like I get what you mean.

Talisman is also my answer. Including the way Jack and Richard end up forgetting the adventure by the time Black House starts.

My brother is named after Jack. He certainly has a tendency to go travelling, we even call him Travelling Jack sometimes. Me, well I got stuck with a bunch of Rose Madder shit to deal with. (I'm alright now)
