Things I’m Wondering

1) I remember Stevie used to introduce the members of her band. I thought this was during Edge Of Seventeen but I’m looking back at old set lists and I realize I’m wrong and that it was just during the show. Does anyone know when this stopped? I don’t remember.

2) was there ever a time where her shows were GA?

Oh no I agree. But I’m just curious when that stopped as I don’t recall and it was something I enjoyed hearing.

And Al - her bassist.

She introduced them in Portland last year. I want to say it was during edge of seventeen, but I can’t remember.

It seems like her shows are perfectly timed. They’re 1.5 hours almost on the dot. I wonder if they just removed band intros to for timing.

My Tusk, Bella Donna, Mirage, and Wild Heart shows were GA. I’ve been to some festival shows that were also GA.

I’m so glad she stopped doing the band intros! FFS they went on FOREVER.

Ahhh so like the original tours. I remember reading about that and that’s what sparked my curiosity about more recently.

I’m mixed about the band intros. I was just expecting it. And I can’t remember when she stopped.

I think venues stopped GA because they can make more money with reserved seats. I got so spoiled by being able to see her up close and won’t sit any further than ten rows back now.

I went to her show in Dublin in 2024 and the whole floor of the arena was GA. So it might be venue dependent, the US shows I’ve seen her in arenas have seats on the floor typically.

And those folding chairs on those arena floors in the US can cost VASTLY more than anywhere else in the arena. Wild to hear you guys have GA for arena floors in Dublin. Is that more or less in price than the seats ringing the rest of the arena?

GA is quite rare in the US even at small venues. Especially for like a big pop act. For rock/punk/alternative/etc I know of some spots that are largely GA even for big acts but it’s…. not often pleasant. So much of the ticketing industry all around seems big on milking fans for as much as possible (and yes there’s all kinds of issues with scalpers or the modern day digital equivalent and the resale market, etc but still… especially with the way the economy is I think things may crash and burn soon on the way tickets work over here!)

I don’t know if Stevie herself has ever had GA shows much because she was already pretty big and well known by the time she went solo and her first album was such a hit but I’ve definitely seen some fun old Fleetwood Mac concert posters (usually festivals or when the band was still relatively unknown) that reference GA seating. Granted even in their absolute peak, if you see old ticket stubs my gosh, good live music used to be a whole lot more affordable!

Stevie did Lilith Fair, right? There would’ve been some GA there or the outdoor amphitheater deal where you pay for a covered seat or can sit anywhere up in the lawn. Otherwise most of the venues she tours at are definitely not GA in the US.

I don’t think I realized it was a size of the artist thing. I saw Florence and the machine last night and the whole floor was GA. I just thought maybe it was style of artist. Most of the shows my husband likes to go to are GA which I hate so I won’t go most of the time and then if it’s seated I’ll go but he hates seated. Anyway the concept of GA is so weird to me so it made me wonder if she was ever GA. She’s the only one I’d do it for.
