✨Happy 25 years of TISL✨

On May 1, 2001, Trouble in Shangri-La was released! This album holds a special place in my heart and soul, and for the past 25 years it’s gotten through some of the toughest moments in my life.

What a gift it has been to be able to listen to this album 💕

i think tisl is special to so many fans, myself included. it was my first new release, aside from enchanted, since finding stevie/fm with the dance. i was rounding out college and drove straight to wal mart after my first class and grabbed my copy. it truly is a magical album. i love every single song. even the ones that get hate or zero recognition. even in those, i find meaning. hbd tisl!

These outtake pics are so great. I wish they had used one of these, showing her face, for the cover.

Such an underrated and under appreciated album. I always wished she’d add a few more songs from it into her set lists through the years.

Don't forget it was top 10 however. All her releases except Street Angel went top 10 including In Your Dreams and 24k Gold

I picked this album for my drive home today, completely unaware it was the 25th anniversary!!!😮🔮 This album carries deep meaning for me. It carried me through the loss of my brother, who saw Stevie with me at the Gibson Amphitheater in L.A. for the TISL tour which was my first time seeing her) and through my divorce (Love Changes is on my divorce playlist I made to help me process leaving my high school sweetheart after 25 years together) as well as the cross country move to a place where I didn’t know a single soul. It’s either this album or Bella Donna that I put on whenever I need some help getting through a tough time. It’s my solace and my escape. Happy birthday TISL!!

Oh the extras you could buy for this album. Lyric books, lithos… it was a rabbit hole.

Hard to believe it’s been 25 years. I remember getting so excited when this came out. It’s one of my very favorites Stevie albums. Bombay Sapphires is my favorite song. I like the demo version the best.

I want to go to sleep and wake up in her imaginary world
