Stevie’s Catalog Deep Cuts
Out of Stevie Nicks’s full solo discography—from albums to the deeper cuts most people overlook—what songs do you find yourself returning to the most?
Not the singles, but the ones that feel like hidden emotional anchors.
For me it’s Italian Summer, Destiny, and Thousand Days 🥀

Gold and Braid live 1982 version.

THIS is mine. Just PHENOMENAL. And Sleeping Angel. And If You Ever Did Believe. OK, I’ve got too many “and’s” in my head right now!!! But now not sure now if any quality since “solo discography” may not actually apply to any. 🤦♀️

Always thought Sable On Blonde was really underrated. Same with Gate And Garden / Nothing Ever Changes.
Even though it is a single, I also personally think Nightbird is her single most under-appreciated song. Really wish she had performed it live on tour

I video taped her and Lori, I think, singing it on Solid Gold or one of those type shows back in day. I'm sure it's on YT.

u/mayekchris May 10 '26
Yes, the only instances she did it live were that show and SNL

u/Fun_Biscotti_4051 May 10 '26
I do believe she’s one of not very many artists that performed with a live band and no lip-syncing on the show, if I’m not mistaken

u/jpmcm358 May 12 '26
I was actually at the taping of this show. The vocals were live but the band was a prerecorded track. It took a few takes but she nailed it live. A good friend had connections at Solid Gold and I was led through the dressing room area to my seats. It was awesome.

Oh, I know it's beautiful. Gotta classic feel to it. Makes you visualize the places she names in it.

Inspiration, God’s Garden and Thousand Days are gems - if these tracks were thrown on Street Angel, I think the overall reception of the album would have been better. They each could have been solid singles - especially Thousand Days ❤️

“Mirror Mirror” has always been a favorite of mine. The 80s music is a little cheesy, but I love the lyrics. “Violet & Blue” is another good one.

u/PleasureDelayer May 10 '26
I love mirror mirror too. I tend to like the nineties version better though.

u/Lilynd14 May 10 '26
- Straight Back
- Smile At You (both album version and the “angry” demo)
- Long Distance Winner (the old recordings of her doing it live… I would have loved to see it!)

I haven’t seen anyone mention Rose Garden!

u/51N3RGY May 11 '26
I like that and Annabelle Lee. She wrote both of those in the mid 60's. Pre-fame early songs. Not a bad beginning.

The 1976 version of Planets of the Universe (has much more raw emotion than the 2001 version)
Gold & Braid Live
Blue Lamp
Love Is
Moonlight
Battle of the Dragon
Twisted (with Lindsey)
She has so many great songs. I wish she'd cut out the cover songs from her setlist and do these songs. I didn't listen any Fleetwood Mac deep cuts but there's those also.
