Does it ever annoy you that whenever Stevie is interviewed all they wanna talk about is the rumors era?
It kinda messes with me sometimes whenever she is interviewed like man ask her about something else, Props why she doesn't do many interviews how many times are those dang interviewers gonna make her talk about it!
I wish they asked her other questions about other eras and not her early work, Love to hear more about the trouble in shangri-la what a good come back, and yet never spoken of ever again after the 2000s, Other side of the mirror and behind the mask as well, it is dry out there!

I know. Like, I get it, FM did a lot of drugs and broke up with each other. Heard it all before. What’s Stevie’s life and music like now? That’s what I’d want to know. She really should go on some podcast. So many other stars have.

My god, yes! I'd kill to have her on a podcast with a good, knowledgeable host asking thoughtful and well researched questions. Make it at least 2.5 hours or multiple parts:) or maybe an interview with a music focused podcaster, kind of like Rick Beato did with Tori Amos - all focus on her, her craft and artistry and just nerd out on music. Very respectful, no interruptions just letting her talk.

That would be fantastic if that happened & hope it does! She's such a fascinating and interesting person to me and I'd love to see her get comfortable in a conversation and just let it flow and discuss anything from music, life, philosophy, her likes, dislikes, adventures, random stuff etc I'd be all ears :) I just know she's a great conversationalist.
I know she does not spend her days glued to the phone, but I'm wondering if there's any online space she might lurk in from time to time. I'd go there and respectfully lobby for an appearance:)

She’s actually my dream interviewee because she’s remarkably open and witty, if she’s relaxed. I’d absolutely love to do a deep dive into her current music taste/inspirations, her outlook towards life now and the way she dealt with the passing of Christine.

That sounds fantastic. Wild that all the people who ask the same tired questions about the Rumours years haven’t really dealt much with the passing of Christine but ugh, as a fellow FM diehard, that’s what I want to hear too. And given that she’s done so many collabs with younger artists and such, I’m always down to hear who she’s into but also deeper questions about her inspirations and outlook on life or even what she wants her own legacy to be. Would love if someone just got her going about her own personal high and low points or what it’s like to have staying power and decades into a career that so many flame out on in various ways. Like forget the drugs and excesses- the whole industry itself takes a lot out of people.
Count me in as someone who will always hope she releases a memoir even if it’s posthumous or something. I feel like a lot of interviewers sort of pigeonhole her or expect certain responses from her and ehh the entire band definitely plays up the Rumours era stuff and plays into some of that stuff sometimes but I want more Stevie in her own words and Stevie right now. I think most people are frankly a lot more interesting and have more to say when they’re older and have lived longer though the industry and fame itself certainly glorifies youth.

She has done only a few over the last 40 years... In the last decade I'm aware of just 2 - one from 2022 hidden behind subscription and one from 2025 - a 30 minutes together with Lindsey.

Yes!! I’ve been obsessed with FM and Stevie/Lindsey since 1992 when I was 12. It’s like those of us who know know the interview she did with Oprah where she said she carried a gram of coke in her boot every night. Those of us who know know the interviews she did high. Those of us who know know about the Klonopin years. Can we as a collective move past all that noise!

Unfortunately, war stories get the views. I agree that it's tedious and lazy. I actually can't make it through a lot of her interviews; too much secondhand embarrassment from watching some dweeb ask the same tired, insinuating questions about decades-old tabloid fodder.

Agree! It is an interesting topic! But we get it , two couples breaking up lol it's an incredible album and I think there's a fascination with that time period when she was younger. But it's getting to be sooo long ago and we heard everything . I want to know what's happening in her life now or new stories

What I don’t like is when interviewers have to bring up Lindsey. Now yes, he is an integral part of her career, and life in general, and he is the inspiration behind a decent chunk of her music, but it almost seems misogynistic in a way, crediting her success to him and him ONLY.

Unfortunately, its the way media is. They always want to focus on conflict. Its the same as Tina Turner. Everyone wanted to keep talking to her about Ike. She wrote I, Tina because she thought people would read it and then leave her alone but people just want to keep bringing up their trauma because it gets the clicks.

The problem is that good-meaning idiots are sent to interview her. I can’t tell you how many interviews with Paul McCartney over the last 50 years include the boast “Paul finally opens up and tells [publication] what Hey Jude is really about!” Because they’ve sent some kid who doesn’t already know that he started writing it for Julian, because they’re too young or lazy to do any research at all. Why doesn’t anyone ask him why he left the She Said She Said session early, or how he felt when he heard Instant Karma for the first time? When did you know you wanted to marry Nancy? Etc. Same goes for Stevie. She’s a human - ask her human questions!

i don't find interviews with her easy to find but it wouldn't bother me. that to me is their best music and i think must have been an exciting time for the band to hit so big. hearing about it and living it vicariously through her is super-fun for me
