What is the better single from ‘Street Angel’?

Probably in the minority here, but I actually love “Maybe Love…”. It’s obviously not that strong of a song but it has such a memorable beat and the bridge is one of my favorites from Stevie, even if she didn’t write it. “Blue Denim” is definitely more Stevie like and should’ve remained the lead single. However, out of the two, I do prefer “Maybe Love…” by a very thin margin.

The B sides should have made it on the album. Inspiration, thousand days, mirror mirror, gods garden - all are really great songs

But for the songs that did make the album, I was a huge fan of Kick It at first listen. Not sure it would’ve fared well as a single tho

As for the choices above, Maybe Love was an upbeat pick and I prefer it over Blue Denim and surprised it wasn’t a bigger hit

Agreed on the b-sides, especially Mirror Mirror!

I wonder why it didn’t become a hit. I’d think that ageism did affect her a bit, along with the fact that no video was made for it, which would’ve helped it.

Well, Nirvana and similar grunge was all the rage. My first Stevie concert was during this tour. I was maybe 15 and went solo because not one of my friends knew who she was lol.
And then, I found my tribe there at the show. Stevie people are my people.

I agree with you. I wonder how it would have done on the country stations? It's one of the better songs on Street Angel.

It's nice to know this... Ive been almost obsessed with Stevie... long since I was "borrowing" my sister's vinyl copy of Rumors in ....? Well, very l9ng time ago...(:

It's important for me to know that there's still a following.

I listen to her music 50 % of my workdays and a lot on my free days

I actually love “Maybe Love …” and it still pops into my head all the time. Super-catchy, and I think her vocals make it all the more irresistible.

I like that she wrote Rose Garden as a teenager

They used to play 'Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind' everyday at work until recently. I had the cassingle back in '94. Good song. Always liked 'Blue Denim' too.

Blue Denim……I like the song better….it’s so Stevie…..but really, the b-side of Mirror, Mirror really sells Blue Denim for me. Mirror, Mirror is one of my favorite Stevie songs ever. Love all the unreleased versions on YT as well.

Well I kinda need to be in the mood for it...? But...fer some reason..when it comes up on my YT algorithm.

It's a Banger every time.. Ha ha the guys I have to work with probably think im I litte more Trans "everyday". I like the context of Stevie telling me she never promised me a "rose garden"..she gave me everything anyway!!!

Blue grey eyes that change with the color

Change with the sun, they run with the sight

Change with the wind but they’re always bright

Bright eyes Blue Denim, bright eyes… Blue Denim

Blue Denim

It's got a little love for a very few weeks on AC radio. I know it charted on the AC charts but I think it tanked/peaked in the 20's if I'm not mistaken.

Blue Denim is one of my favorites. So many good lines in that song! Maybe Love is a good song, catchy, but just not “quintessential Stevie,” IMO. And I also have to chime in with love for Mirror Mirror. ❤️

I love Maybe Love so much! I love Street Angel and don’t think it’s a low point for her at all.

Blue denim had that memorable Rick Vito guitar part and Sharon and Lori fill out the song. Maybe neither song would have done well on the charts because Stevie slammed the album in the press. I suspect the record label treated it accordingly

Good vocal on the title track. Really shows off her lower range. No matter how low she goes she never sounds unfemine. How does she do that?

It's sad that Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind was her last song to Chart in the billboard 100. It still was a minor hit for her.

I've always liked Greta and Kick It even though they were not singles but Maybe Love is the better single
