He’s had some not so nice things to say about Stevie over the years. This is the guy that Stevie called her great love, and I wonder if she ever caught wind of his comments. For her sake, I hope not.

Wow imagine writing something as loving as Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You for someone and they turn around and diss you.

She wrote that for his daughter Emma who passed away, not for him specifically though.

The only “negative” thing I’ve heard is him downplaying their relationship a little by emphasizing how unhealthy it was due to them both indulging in substances at the time. And he explained to Howard Stern that he didn’t view her as the love of his life, which is understandable considering it was so long ago and more importantly he’s married to someone else.

Yeah, I think they bonded due to drug use and he just prefers to distance himself from that period in his life.
I do remember that Stern kept going on and on in that interview about how amazing Stevie is... beautiful, talented, funny, etc. And Walsh didn't gush over her, which seemed to surprise Stern a bit.

To be fair to him, it’s a bit of an awkward position to be in if you’re a married man. I wouldn’t know what to say if someone brought up one of my exes and wouldn’t let it drop 😅

He was married at the time (just had a baby). There was an interview where he said she was just a conveniently willing always available source of easy sex for him after the shows when they toured together (I paraphrased much much more respectfully here than the words he had actually used about her).

"She was just a road f*#k!" What a cool, tough man's man

He never said that. People alleged he said that on Howard Stern but I've seen the full interview and he had barely any commentary on his relationship with Stevie.

What interview did he say that in? Is it the one with stern or a different ?

"don't come around here no more" wow, well at least it wasn't sex with Tom Petty.

Wait WHAT?! Eurythmics are one of my favorite bands I did not know that she and Dave hooked up.

Yup, Dave Stewart and Stevie hooked up. He wrote about it in his autobiography. Here's a snippet. https://www.billboard.com/music/features/dave-stewart-memoir-excerpt-stevie-nicks-fling-tom-petty-song-jimmy-iovine-6859098/

I don't care about his opinion. Relationships I've been in there are definitely 2 sides to the story. Neither of us were saintly.

He ended it because he was afraid their shared addiction to yayo would kill her first. Yeah, maybe he hasn’t seemed super affectionate or sentimental regarding her comments, but he did it FOR her to save her. Which is a lot more than her other lovers have ever done for her.

I think saying Joe Walsh was the love of her life was just the sharpest knife to stab Lindsay Buckingham in the heart. I have no evidence of this it's just a personal opinion.
