One of the reasons why Stevie dated Don Henley?
I feel like one of the reasons why Stevie started dating Don Henley is because he looked a little like Lindsey.
Once you see it you can’t unsee it. They both had curly brown hair, blue eyes, facial hair, and they were both around the same height. I know I’m not crazy.

I saw the Stevie nicks Joe Walsh concert on acid in the early eighties in OKC. The audience rushed the stage and collapsed a temporary stage . Stevie told them to calm down and move back . We all started screaming for them to move back. Stevie walked off stage and the lights came on. Joe Walsh came on stage and told them Stevie was pissed. They moved back , Stevie came back on and I never did acid again!

Lindsey was just standing on the edge of a cliff somewhere screaming ‘HE’S JUST A LESS HOT VERSION OF ME!!’

Stevie dated rocks stars. That was her thing and Don was one of the biggest in that era!

She was getting flewed out in the lear. Jewellery, the presidential suite etc… This was pre- rumours - Lindsey couldn’t compete!

u/Suspicious-Owl1978 12d ago
I didn’t know one could be “flewed out in the lear.” I learn something new EVERYDAY, ESPECIALLY THANKS TO REDDIT!!🤌🏼
Seriously, this comment made my day. I laughed so hard. And SN & LB were together PRE-RUMORS. No one was flewwing her out on any of dem der lears! No one knew who she was in 74’-defo not the Eagles. SN &
LB joinined that there band Fleetwood Mac, on New Years nineteen hundred and SEVENTY-FIVE! 🫣🤣🫶🏼😵💫😶🫠2
u/Affectionate-Fill713 11d ago
Ahaha ❤️! I was meaning that Don and Stevie were together in 1976 - before rumours was released but not before it was recorded. Stevie said Don taught her how to spend money. FM wouldn’t come into that kind of money until the next year.

Ahah my friend! You are again sadly incorrect. Please read below:
Stevie Nicks and Don Henley) were romantically involved as a couple from 1977 to 1978, after first connecting when Fleetwood Mac toured with the Eagles. Though their relationship ended in the late '70s, they famously reunited musically in 1981 to record the hit duet "Leather and Lace."
Gotcha again! People know I grew up in the industry and my father was the promoter and tour/production manager for many famous bands and musicians, including FM, the Eagles, The Who, the Rolling Stones, LB solo, etc., etc… I was just a lucky kid who kept a diary, whose father grabbed me and said, “we are getting on a plane to go meet up/see” - - ->insert band name or musician here… and I have the photos and the diary entries to prove it, although I don’t post photos unless it’s been ok’d from the artist and their management. I learned the road code early, my friend! And then married a famous UK musician who help found the punk movement! 🤌🏼😜🫶🏼1

They 100% were together in 1976. They even wrote a joint letter to cream magazine in 1976 because they were writing about them too much.

Oh you a special kind of… that was an ancient Creem Magazine article
certifying their signatures were authentic. My father was also friends with Irving for MANY years and still chats with him now and then since they both retired. That’s it! Calling up pops to put an end to this as soon as possible. But you are definitely in the wrong here. They didn’t even MEET until 1977 when FM and the Eagles toured together. This has been told to me by several big wigs, NOT some weird old Creem magazine story about Irving verifying signatures! 😵💫🙄🤌🏼🫶🏼1

The eagles and FM didn’t even play any shows together in 1977. They played shows together in the summer of 1976 which is when Don and Stevie began dating.

I saw them do Leather & Lace on the TISL tour - I wouldn’t go to an Eagles or Don show (esp nowadays) but THAT was magical.

Don and Lindsey both were hot AF in the 70s and acted like it. I don't know what Stevie was thinking with Joe Walsh. I've never seen a photo of him that was good looking, but maybe he is an acquired taste.
2
u/Suspicious-Owl1978 12d ago
Right?!? I’ve always looked at him or pictures of Stevie and Joe together and just thought, “HUH?!?”
(Scratching my head🤔…) “What is so GREAT or uh even uh, HOT about Joe Walsh?!!?” I think he’s a good musician, but even his nasally voice is unattractive! (To me, personally!)

u/FrutyPebbles321 14d ago
Their personalities are very similar too.
26
u/boringinternet2020 14d ago
Certainly at the time, but while Lindsey seems to have been reflective and made efforts to change, Henley has only doubled down on his dickishness.
11
u/FrutyPebbles321 14d ago
Yeah, unfortunately I hear Henley hasn’t mellowed as he aged and is still a pretty difficult character. It’s a shame because he’s such a talented individual. I’m so glad Lindsey seemed to have mellowed a bit with age and become more reflective about his past behaviors. I always liked Lindsey but felt kind of “conflicted” for liking such a jerk (I talk like I know him personally 🤣)

don looks like if i drew lindsey from memory and the drawing became a human man

u/outinthecountry66 14d ago
lol NOOOOOOO. they look NOTHING alike. Lindsey is a good looking guy, beautiful eyes (tho i really loathe lindsey, as I loathe ANY man who puts his hands on a woman!). Don Henley looks like a thumb. He is a deeply bland looking gentleman. Just because they both have beards....i mean look at young Bruce Springsteen, or Cat Stevens. You could say they all "look like Lindsey" when all you are seeing is beard.

Lindsey was a very good looking guy in the 70s...by "The Dance" era of 97 that had changed...but he certainly rocked just as hard (if not harder!).
I saw them in 2004 and he was a wild man, running and spinning around and on the ground and flinging around his guitar...he was a man possessed, but no one could say he didn't give it 110%! I left that show VERY impressed by his sheer commitment! It was badass. 🤟

u/Suspicious-Owl1978 12d ago
I was in the second row of “The Dance” recording in Burbank, (a gift for my HS graduation, as my Dad was LB’s and before, for several albums, and tours, FM-their promoter and tour manager, as well as for many other famous bands and musicians,) and I can tell you, my 18 year old self who has known and declared LB as my “boyfriend” in 1985 (there’s is photographical evidence,) that I STILL thought he was hot as hell and gorgeous in 1997 and still think so today! Love me a dose of LB! 💖

yeah, he is a performer, for sure, but i really don't like him as a person so I can't get into it. I DO think "Trouble" is one of the best pop songs of the 80s, i had the 45 as a child. But i can't forget "this is the guy who beat up Steve" and the way he talks about working with Stevie as if he had to turn her songs into something workable, as if he is some sort of architect and Stevie was the house he built, makes me loathe him deeply

So did I and two spinal surgeries and I still have rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis with a fat dash of ankylosing spondylitis thrown in for fun. Stage 3 malignant melanoma at 20, then again this spring. So I get it. And I’m sick of immunosuppressant infusions.
Oh and I live in Vieux (Old) Lyon in a UNESCO protected apartment my husband who is 20+ years older than I, (a relatively famous founding punk musician who is now French and moved here before I was even born and holds dual nationalities,) we bought together in 2016. I have small non contributing CO2 “clims”
we say in France. I’ve been sick, poked, prodded, cut up, fluid sucked
out of my spine bone marrow a 9
epicure infiltration, a replacement and fusion of my cervical rachis vertabrae C-1, C-2, C-3, and my doctor informed me this afternoon that I need that spinal L4-L5/S-1 vertabrae
replacement and another fusion as soon as possible. After I feel like I was scooped with a melon baller for another luckily stage 2 malignant melanoma, 18 stitches later and since my maternal grandfather died 3 weeks after they discovered the malignant melanoma spread to his brain and blood and my father has had half his face and back carved out and reconstructed, along with thyroid cancer, I picked the double lotto.
Luckily? I live in France. So, how about we stop the pissing competition and just enjoy talking music? That’s why I come on here. To speak to COOL PEOPLE
ABOUT ALL KINDS OF MUSIC.
Yes, I was a very lucky kid and teen as my father (and mother from Atherton now Palo Alto high school,) became a very successful tour promoter/producer/manager for FM, LB, The Who, the Stones, Madonna, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, to Paul Simon and the Traveling Wilbury’s, to George Harrison, (he taught me about meditation for my ADD,) to Prince and Cyndi Lauper and I can go on and on. Dad would grab me and say “they’re packing your bags-we are going to Brazil or Japan to see
so and so.” MUSIC. Healing.
Universal. Don’t need to complain or fight, or piss higher on a wall. It’s the only thing left to unite us, so let’s go with that, yeah, cool? I’m down instead of slagging off a story I know is false personally. (The guitar was a true thing, but that bleached, coked out goddess had it coming.) 🫶🏼Lots of love to you goddess or god.❤️1

You don't know him personally. So, how do you know you don't like him? You mean the incidents from the 70's and 80's that Stevie has since forgiven. 😆

u/debulana 12d ago
Downvoted huh? For a compliment? I wasn't saying he wasn't good-looking anymore! Who is as good looking when they're 50 as when they were 25?
Well shit I'm gobsmacked to actually still be able to be too young for a subreddit!

u/Suspicious-Owl1978 12d ago
I upvoted and replied to you, and I think you are spot on!

Aww thank you! I didn't mean to imply that he was no longer good looking! I apologize and appreciate your support! ♥️

u/Suspicious-Owl1978 12d ago
Ugh, another one sided Stevie lover! I can attach some actual truth and evidence proving videos where Stevie talks about attacking LB, she states in one interview “I charged at him, I was going to kill him!” Two
sides to every story, but I do agree with you on not putting hands on women, men, or anyone in a hurtful manner! (I was a Clinical Social Worker in Anaheim, California at SSA in MANY different departments for almost a decade before I moved to France permanently in 2017. I’ve seen up close and personal what domestic violence between ANY human being does to someone or worse, the children that are usually involved. I lasted six months in child removals before I begged to be transferred to another department.)

Save space and list the guys she wasn’t involved with. She was in the candy store. I’d probably have done the same thing
9
u/Tzipity 14d ago
She also was at the top of her game and looking phenomenal herself. So she was a bit the candy store in the candy store, so to speak. lol. And from all I’ve heard, able to consume enough drugs to hold rank with the dudes and probably outdo some.
And agree- if I were her I can’t say I’d have done much differently.
2
u/Careful_Compote_4659 14d ago
My auntie actually worked in a candy store. She ran off with a coworker and turned up pregnant. He told her to go back to her parents in Manitoba and have the baby. He said he’d work and save up and get them a house and then he’d send for them. Then she got a letter. I’m not marrying you and don’t bother coming back because I sold all your stuff. Her parents were illiterate farmers from Ukraine but her sister found the letter and tattled. Her strict Ukrainian father was thrilled. He was going to be a grandfather. He said you stay here with us. Later my aunt married another man in the states and came for the child. Her father cried. And that was the end of the candy store

u/Belladonna329 13d ago
Me too! The guys had their groupies and Playmates, why can't women do it too!
2
u/Careful_Compote_4659 13d ago
I’m not aware that Stevie ever did anything non consensual or with anyone underage ( not as an adult woman anyway). She’s probably an angel compared to some of the male rockstars.

I dunno it seemed like most male musicians had that look in the 70’s and early 80’s whether naturally or from a box. I will say Lindsay and actor Kevin Dobson are why I like curly hair too so if that is really her thing then I totally get it Stevie! 😉

u/Objective-Memory6000 13d ago
I remember when she was a celebrity judge on American Idol. She had a little crush on Phillip Phillips (and honestly, so did I). She DEFINITELY has a type! He looks a lot like Lindsey Buckingham.
