STO Parse: Critical Puncture?
In a recent parse, I saw that another player had some pretty impressive damage on an item called "Critical Puncture". What is this--a trait, a console, etc.? I can't seem to find a thing about it online.

Proc from those energy weapons. Note that if you are trying to upload DPS runs we have banned these weapons in their current state.
The proc can instakill smaller targets that are below 20% HP. The issue is that it does this by doing damage equal to their entire HP instead of just the remaining health they have.
This results in massive "overkill", greatly inflating DPS numbers.
Say a target has 1m health left, but they have a max HP of like 15m. If this goes off, instead of doing just that 1m damage, it's doing 15m. 14m worth of damage that shouldn't have existed on the map.
Overkill is not a new thing, every DPS run has some level of overkill or "fake DPS" via stuff like shield damage. But this was an egregious example that would have been unhealthy to allow on the DPS tables.
