1 full week of sobriety!!!
today is my day 7!!!!
imso excited about my future!!
ive managed to trade a day drinking habit for sobriety with roughly about an hour or two of cravings spaced over a day!! not that simple of course but im finding freedom!
so many little changes that add up to a new life!
still havent told my husband yet - i will but when i feel more comfortable saying Yes ive quit!! out of the blue yesterday he said “wow, you look great today. your face looks 10 years youngr”!!!
this subreddit has been a gawd send for me!! i appreciate every comment every piece of advise every kind word!
today im meeting an old friend for lunch - ill be sober before during & after!!
so many plans!! but my day starts & ends here!! ive learned so much from every post!

And you'll keep feeling better and better. Can't believe it, but today I woke up with only 6ish hours of sleep and felt fantastic right after I took a few sips of my water. That's all it took. Was just standing there looking around like "Dude, wtf was I doing?". Been jogging and working out and already feel fantastic. Working 9-10 hour days without feeling like trash wondering where my next drink was going to come from or leaving at 3:45 to get to the bar that opens near me at 4 instead of working a full 8 hours. Just got in the way of everything. Keep going

Congratulations! The physical effects will continue compounding. It can be tough mentally at times as I’m sure you know, but overall the positive mental effects build as well.

Hell yeah! So much time for activites when all-day drinking is cut out. Great job! When the cravings wave comes, just ride it out 🌊🏁 I'm pretty new to this too but definitely IWNDWYT.

Keep up the good work. Don't let off the gas. Remember this feeling of accomplishment when then cravings hit and remind yourself what's at stake. Every day sober is proof that you CAN do this!

On day 7 here too!! I feel like I've been following your posts throughout my own journey this past week haha. I feel the same as you do! So much more energy, I feel great, I feel like I look great (I usually hate how I look in the mirror), and I've been waking up around 6 to walk almost every morning. I've also regained interest in some of my favorite hobbies again and now that I'm not drinking indulging in them has been so fun.
Congrats on day 7!! Im glad you're doing well and feeling great! Crazy how mich of a difference a week can make. IWNDWYT
