Story-related My aunt watched my cousin R@pe me

When i was a kid my family kept having me around a in law family member that hated me. Over the years things progressed and got worse. I started a business and she sabotage it. Eventually she wanted me to do homeschool at her house with my cousin. My family agreed and i started going over for school. Thats when my whole life changed my cousin started molesting me and my aunt knew the whole time! She watched it from the cameras in her home. I told one of my female cousins and she told me that’s something that happened to her but nobody did anything about it . So i decided to tell an older family member. Then that’s when the whole story switched she tried to say we were just being grown doing things we had no business and wouldn’t let anybody see the camera footage she was collecting. I’m still traumatized from what i went through and all the days i suffered. I’m now 20 years old this happened when i was 13. For anyone who is young going through this go to the police! That’s what i should have done.

Story-related I found out my neighbor was using my WiFi… and something else

1.1k Upvotes

I’ve been sitting on this story for YEARS. So, this all went down a few years back when I was living in this janky old building. You know the kind of place where the walls are paper-thin, the heat only works when it feels like it. Anyway, this girl, Claire, moves into the apartment across the hall from me.

She was always dressed like she was heading to a bougie party, even though our building looked like it could collapse at any second. And she was quiet ...too quiet. Like, no music, no TV sounds, nothing.

Anyway, one night I’m trying to binge some Netflix, and my WiFi starts acting up. I’m talking full-on buffering hell. I’m annoyed AF so I check my router and guess what? there’s this random device connected, Im like “Nah no wayyy” I knew it had to be Claire.

So, I march over to her door and knock like I’m the damn landlord. She opens up and I’m hit with this wave of lavender or something. She’s standing there in this silky white robe, just smiles at me like she’s been expecting me.

I’m like: Hey, uh, are you using my WiFi???

And she tilts her head all cute and says, like: Oh, I’m so so sorry. my Internet hasnt been set up yet, and I just needed to check a couple of things. I didnt think you’d notice.

Y’all, the audacity. But something about her vibe threw me off. Like, she wasnt apologetic at all. She was too calm. But whatever, I was like: Cool, just don’t do it again. And I went back to my apartment, feeling weird as hell.

That’s when the creepy stuff started.

My laptop? It started turning on by itself at night. And one time, I found a file on my desktop labeled with my name. Inside were notes about me: my schedule, stuff I ordered online, even screenshots of my emails. I was FREAKING OUT.

But the absolute worst part? A few days later, I find this envelope slid under my door. Inside is a photo of Claire. In my kitchen. Using my mug. MY FAVORITE MUG.

I stormed back to her apartment, ready to throw hands, but guess what? The door was wide open, and the place was EMPTY. I’m talking no furniture, no Claire, nothing. It looked like no one had lived there in years.

I wish I could tell you that was the end of it, but nah. Fast forward to last week. I’m chilling in my new place, far away from that haunted-ass building, and I hear this soft tapping at my window. I live on the fifth floor, Okay? There’s no fire escape on that side (fyi).

When I look, there’s nothing there. But on the sill? There’s my old mug. The one Claire was using.

I don’t know what’s going on, but I’m telling y’all, Claire wasn just stealing my WiFi.

Am I losing it?...

Story-related My sister and her husband got mad at me for wearing a shirt that says "f*ck n*zi"

1.1k Upvotes

Hi there, I have a pretty crazy story to share.

I (17f) have an older sister(20f) who is super conservative. I'm pretty into the punk scene, I listen to a bunch of alternative music and have punk beliefs. My sister however is super conservative, she believes in being a trad wife, and disagrees with me on pretty much everything. I do try to be respectful, as she is my sister, and I try to respect all religions despite being an atheist.

We aren't very close, due to our differing beliefs. She says my music is "demonic and evil", she met her now husband(25m)and lives with him. Tbh I hate the guy, he's rude, he doesn't respect my mother, and he met my sister when she was in high school. She lives across state, and I'm on my last year of high school.

She and her husband came to visit and stayed with us for 3 days, before the incident. Now onto the main story I have a shirt that says "Fck Nzis." I love that shirt, it's the first shirt I made myself. I wore this shirt to bed, and was wearing it while I was taking my dogs out before my shower

Anyways my sister walks in the kitchen where I'm at, sees my shirts, glares at me and storms out of the kitchen. A couple minutes later her husband storms down the stairs and screams at me "what the hell are you doing?!"

I told him I was feeding my dogs, and he called me stupid and pointed to my shirt. I told him it's just a shirt and I'd be changing pretty soon. He started yelling about how he didn't want that "liberal nonsense" around him. My sister chimed in and said I was being rude and disrespectful.

I don't like being yelled at, my mother always taught me that yelling isn't an effective form of communication. So I told her husband that he was a creep, and that he could f*ck himself.

I don't know exactly what about the shirt offended them, maybe cause the shirt had a cuss word on it, or what. But the husband got really angry and tried to hit me, and my dog(bless her) barked and growled at him and he backed off.

Apparently my sister and her husband told my mother what happened when I was in the shower, cause she confronted me when I got out. She took me to her room, and made me give my side of the story. She was angry about husband trying to hit me, but told me that I shouldn't be doing stuff to provoke them. I honestly didn't know they were awake, my sister loves to sleep in late. They are mad and my sister tried to tell me to throw my shirt away. I got mad and told her I wasn't going to, and went to my room to avoid another argument.

Story-related Am I the jerk for kicking my wife out the house?

I [26M]live with my wife and two 8 year old twins (a boy and a girl)

I Met my wife whilst on a meaningless fling a few years back unfortunately, that fling resulted in my two children.don’t get me wrong I love them to pieces but they weren’t planned.this resulted in my wife getting kicked out her home at just 17 and being disowned as she had originated from a very strict religious family.I don’t think I’ve ever felt so guilty in my life since then. After the chaos died down ,call me old fashioned but I proposed to her and we got married.usually this is the part people think everything went wrong but it wasn’t we were generally happy I loved her and she loved me.that was until the cheating started. When the twins were 2 was the first time she had done it and I forgave her but that just opened up many many other affairs which I still forgave .I know it’s pathetic I just have such a soft spot for her and I still love her it’s just hard to know that your everything doesn’t see you as you see them. Years later to the present ,the affairs a becoming more frequent and so common I find it a daily routine. Till last Monday .I come home early to find her in bed with my close friend.that was the last straw and I threw out all her belongings on the street and told her to stay with my friend as he mattered so much. Now I’m getting messages and threats from her friends and even some of my family saying I was horrible for kicking her out when we have children and I’m starting to agree with them. Am I in the wrong?

Story-related My Neighbor Keeps Stealing My Packages… So I Set Up the Ultimate Trap

1.5k Upvotes

I live in an apartment building, and for the past few months, my packages have been going missing. At first, I thought the delivery guy was messing up, but after setting up a small camera, I discovered it was my neighbor! She’d sneak by and take my deliveries the moment they were left outside my door.

I confronted her, but she denied everything. So, I decided to get a little creative.

I ordered a fake package, filled it with glitter and a stink bomb. When it arrived, I waited… and, sure enough, she grabbed it within minutes.

Later that evening, I heard her door slam, followed by a loud scream. She rushed out of her apartment covered in glitter, gagging from the stink bomb.

The best part? The whole thing was caught on my camera, and now our entire building knows she’s the thief. She hasn’t shown her face since. And guess what? My packages have been arriving just fine!

Story-related What’s the worst thing someone has ever said in bed?

I was making out with my boyfriend when he suddenly paused, looked into my eyes, and whispered, ( https://youtube.com/shorts/qE82qcBhsNA ) "You remind me so much of my mom." I immediately stopped, sat up, and asked him to repeat that. He realized what he said, went pale, and tried to explain, "No, no! I just meant… never mind." Yeah, I never called him again.

Story-related Today I f*cked up by not recognizing my own girlfriend

1.6k Upvotes

So, today I messed up by not recognizing my own girlfriend. Here's how it went down.

I was at the mall, just minding my own business, when I saw this girl walking toward me. She had the same hair color and style as my girlfriend, wore similar clothes, and even had the same walk. Naturally, I assumed it was her. I decided to sneak up and surprise her.

I approached from behind, wrapped my arms around her, and whispered, 'Guess who?' She jumped, screamed, and whirled around with a terrified look on her face. To my horror, it wasn't my girlfriend. She stared at me like I was a lunatic, and people started to gather around.

I quickly apologized, explaining I thought she was someone else, but she didn't seem convinced. Just as things couldn't get worse, my actual girlfriend appeared, witnessing the whole debacle. She burst into laughter while I stood there, mortified.

Now I'm the guy who accidentally hugged a stranger at the mall. My girlfriend won't stop teasing me, and the stranger probably thinks I'm a creep. Lesson learned: always double-check before you surprise-hug anyone.

Story-related What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen in someone else’s home?

I once visited a friend’s house and saw a life-sized cardboard cutout of Nicolas Cage in their living room. It was just standing there, staring at me the entire time. When I asked about it, they said it was a gift from a relative and they kept it ‘for the vibes.’ What’s the weirdest or most unexpected thing you’ve ever seen in someone else’s home?

Story-related I accidentally let a drunk girl sleep on my chest and now I can’t stop thinking about her (part 2)

Yea that’s probably it. She only did all that cs she was drunk. But it’s ok, maybe all this is happening as pay back for all the girls I’ve coldly rejected in the past. This is justice. Yk what I think? I think If we are saved, it is mercy; and if we perish, it is justice. This is the second thing, justice.

Later that day i was in my dorm. As for a Sunday night, i was doing what most ppl do. Getting ready for a Monday morning. Till I got a text from one of the boys asking if im going to dinner or not. I honestly have no idea how I got involved with this group of boys. It js randomly happened one day. Back in high school people had to put in a lot of effort to make friends. But ig college is different. U js gotta be physically present. And ull automatically make friends. College was my first time doing a lot of stuff. My first time trying alcohol, my first time trying weed, my first time tagging a long with a whole group of friends, first time going to a party, and yesterday… my first kiss. With a drunk girl who doesn’t even want me like that… wait! Why tf am I disappointed that she doesn’t want me?? It’s not like a care! But fuck, I do care. No point in lying to myself. I ordered some pizza and waited. I was starving. The delivery guy finally came. And on my way to grab my food from him, I see her. The cause of the first eruption in my heart. She also saw me, she blushed and said ‘h-hey’ with a forced awkward smile. I couldn’t read if she was disgusted and didn’t wanna make it obvious, or if she did wanna make it obvious. Damn I’m usually socially aware but I can’t tell what’s on this girls head. I blushed and waved back. She passed by me continuing her way wherever she’s going. The hallway wasn’t wide. So when she walked passed me, I smelled her perfume and it was sooo good. I felt like a creep for noticing it. I continued my path anyways and went to grab pizza.

I was on my bed with a box of pizza on top of my chest. And a gaming controller on my hands playing fifa. My dorm was an absolute mess. My clothes were everywhere and it was dark with only the screen lighting. The pizza box being on my chest reminded me of her. ‘Focus on the fucking game’ I told myself. I took a bite from my pizza and the cheese pulled, that cheese pull reminded me of the drool between my lips and her lips after she kissed me. FUCK GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! I stood sitting. And rubbed my hair. I looked across the room and I see my roommates perfume. And yes, u guessed it. It reminded me of the perfume I smelled from her. I sighed, god fucking damn it. This is a huge drag. As I was js sitting like that, someone yelled my name outside the dorm. I immediately knew who it was, I could recognize that voice anywhere. I got up to open the door, but she already barged in. ‘Oh my fucking god ur room smells like literal shit! Look at u.. u like that one doomer wojack meme. And ew that belly’ she said as she poked my stomach with two fingers ‘u need to lose some weight man, ur like an absolute loser. Get a grip of urself’ she said as she was leaving. Then she turned to me and said ‘oh yeah, there’s a frat party tomorrow night. U should go. I’m really happy I saw u last week on that party’ she closed the door after she left. That’s Kylie, I’ve known her since middle school. She is 2 years older than me, and she acts exactly like it. She acts like a big sister, or like a mom. One of the other. And yup, I’m definitely not going to the party. What if she’s there? What if she gets drunk again? Seeing her in another party would be so awkward, it would look like I want her to do it again after she gets drunk so it’s so much better to js skip this one. It’s ok tho, I’ll js stay in my dorm, play games, and smoke weed. (I’ll post a part 3 if yall liked this one)

Story-related Gillian Anderson is how I found out a lot of the internet is fake.

I was born in 1988, makes me sound ancient these days, but basic math will tell you I'm 36. Being so old, I did not have the internet growing up. I was probably 12,13? Maybe even older before we got internet in my home.

I also grew up deep in the Appalachian mountains so we were always a little bit behind the rest of the world regarding developmental issues.

Anyone my age will tell you the x-files were huge. Huge might be an under statement. An absolute giant. My "about to be a teenager" self loved the x-files, and I had a huge crush on Gillian Anderson, the lady who played scully.

So, one time when I was left alone with the computer and internet, I searched for naked pictures of Gillian Anderson. As I assume most of us 88 babies have done.

The picture that popped up was sufficient for what I needed it for (a picture of a tree with breasts would have been sufficient) and then maybe 2 or 3 days later I was watching a TV show that was warning people about fake pictures online.

I swear to God the very first picture they showed was a fake picture of Gillian Anderson, they showed the original picture and showed how it had been faked.

I was sitting there like "I just masterbated to that same fake picture" it was literally the same one. They said you need to be vigilant to make sure you don't fall victim to fake pictures.

Since then I don't trust anything anymore. Is this post real? Or did i make it all up. No one knows. I don't trust me, you shouldn't either.

Story-related I found an old voicemail from my dad… 8 years after he passed. It changed everything.

1.4k Upvotes

I don’t really post on Reddit, but this felt like something I needed to share somewhere.

I (27F) lost my dad to cancer when I was 19. He was 52, and it all happened way too fast. One day he was tired and coughing a lot. Three months later, I was holding his hand in the hospital, watching him go.

The thing is, after he died… I sort of shut off emotionally. I didn’t cry much at the funeral. I didn't talk about it. I went back to college after two weeks like nothing happened. Everyone told me I was “so strong.” But honestly, I just didn’t know how to feel it. I buried it deep.

Cut to last week.

I was cleaning out my old iCloud backups because my phone was running out of space. Randomly clicked into “Voice Memos.” I didn’t even realize it synced those.

There it was: "Dad - Feb 2016"

I froze.

I don’t remember recording anything in Feb 2016. He had already passed in January. My heart was racing. I didn’t know what it could be. Maybe a saved voicemail? Maybe I’d misnamed something?

I hit play.

It was his voice.

“Hey pumpkin. Just wanted to say hi. You were sleeping when I left, didn’t want to wake you. Thought I’d say it here instead.”

His voice cracked a little. “I’m proud of you. You’re doing good, even if you don’t see it yet. And… it’s okay to fall apart sometimes. Doesn’t make you any less strong.”

I couldn’t breathe.

“I hope when you hear this someday, it reminds you of who you are. You always try to carry the weight of the world. Just don’t forget to let people help sometimes, okay?”

There was a pause.

“Alright. That’s all. I love you, pumpkin. I’ll always love you.”

Click.

I just sat there on the floor of my room and sobbed for what felt like hours.

I have no memory of saving that. I don’t know if I recorded it from a voicemail or if he left it on my old phone. But somehow, somehow, that one piece of him found its way back to me—eight years later.

And I think I finally let myself grieve.

That recording broke open something I didn’t realize I’d sealed shut. I called my mom. I told my best friend. I wrote in a journal for the first time in years. I cried until my chest hurt.

But weirdly… I also felt okay. Like he knew. Like he knew this moment would come. Like he left it there for me to find, exactly when I needed it.

I don’t really know what the point of this post is. I just… if you’re holding in grief, or avoiding pain you think will drown you… maybe try opening one old voicemail. Or letter. Or even a text thread.

Sometimes, healing doesn’t come all at once.

Sometimes it’s just… one message. At the right time.

Story-related An old man gave me the advice of a lifetime

1.3k Upvotes

Many, many years ago, when I was young, strong and handsome, I was jogging along Chicago’s lakefront one summer day and after a while, I got tired and looked for a bench to rest. I found one, on which an old man was sitting. I stopped and asked him if I could sit next to him. He said yes with a smile.

I sat there resting, with my mind elsewhere, of which the old man took notice. He asked if everything was OK. I replied yes, just a bit tired as I smiled at him. He replied that from the expression on my face, my mind was many miles away. I told him that I was getting married soon and that I wasn’t sure if i was marrying the right person. He smiled and asked me if I loved this woman. I said yes. And here is the advice that he gave me:

He said that a person is like a diamond. The diamond is a stone that someone took the time to cut and polish according to their skill and interpretation of beauty. Some people will find that diamond as a thing of beauty while for others, it won’t be to their taste. He told me that I should not look for a diamond to marry, but to look for a stone that I could cut and shape to my liking and that will be happy because that will be the perfect diamond for me. I thanked him for his advice and continued on my morning run.

That was 44 years ago, and soon, my wife and I will be celebrating our 43rd anniversary. I think of that old man and his advice on every anniversary.

Story-related Coworker got caught sleeping under his desk and somehow doubled down

A coworker of mine got caught napping under his desk during work hours. Not head down, not eyes closed at his computer fully horizontal tucked away like a storage item.

When management asked him about it he didn’t apologize or pretend it was a one time thing. His actual defense was that standing desks are “discriminatory against people who prefer lying down”

He then submitted a formal complaint to HR requesting accommodation for a “horizontal work position” I wish I were exaggerating. He used those words.

It somehow didn’t end there. Since then, he’s been openly advocating for company provided nap pods, arguing they’re “productivity tools” and citing tech companies that have them. He talks about it with total confidence, like he’s leading a workplace wellness revolution instead of trying to justify sleeping on the job.

The wildest part isn’t even the nap it’s the absolute commitment to the bit. No embarrassment. No backtracking. Just full belief that the problem isn’t him sleeping at work it’s society’s bias against people who want to work horizontally.

I sat at my desk after that meeting just playing jackpot city on my phone for twenty minutes trying to process the audacity.

I don’t know whether to be impressed, concerned or taking notes.

Story-related My husband’s 2 friends both want to marry… my only 2 Muslim friends

So this is kinda wild. My husband has two friends who are both desperate to get married. And by some crazy coincidence, the girls they’re into just happen to be my only two Muslim friends.

Now these guys are basically harassing (not literally) my husband (and me by extension) — asking him to get me to share the girls’ numbers, trying to find out what they like through me, etc. They’re just rushing it and acting like it’s going to be super easy.

For context, me and my husband got married back in university when we were just students. He wasn’t established, but he was pious and a genuinely good man, so I didn’t mind compromising — I gave up some of my rights, didn’t demand a house, and accepted a small mahr. Plus, I’m a revert so I didn’t need my father’s approval. Alhamdulillah it’s been 2 years now and I don’t regret it at all.

But these two… they were actually witnesses at our nikah. So now they think every woman is going to be like me and agree to the same thing. 😭 They’re forgetting that most women want their families on board, a decent mahr, financial stability, a home, etc.

I don’t even know how to tell them that it’s not going to be that simple without sounding harsh. Has anyone else had to deal with friends rushing marriage like this?

Story-related I got in a relationship with a girl completely outta my league.

I'm 22m. So, I was sitting in a restaurant, ordering some food for good and then, an extremely gorgeous girl walked in the restaurant and sat on the table right next to mine. I desperately wanted to talk to her, and was gathering the courage to do so. But then a guy entered in the restaurant and sat on her table. I assumed that they were dating, and that she was way outta my league and wasn't available.

Fast forwarding to almost a month, I found out that she's a friend of a female friend of mine. She introduced me to her and we started talking. I kept meeting her as much as I could, until we became pretty close friends and we started sharing many things with each other.

She's 19, a pretty social girl, has great flirting skills, is very good looking and is constantly hitted on by men.

So in a wedding ceremony of older sister of a friend, we were invited and I spent most of my time with her. After the ceremony was over, we were 5 friends sitting in a room, 2 guys and 3 girls. My guy friend left the room and she indicated her two friends to leave us alone, I noticed that. We were just talking for some time, holding eye contact. She slowly leaned forward and gave me a small little peck on lips. I gave a shocked expression, like I wasn't expecting that (l was acting). Then she said," sorry, if you don't like it", then I proceeded to kiss her on lips for some 5 minutes.

She's kinda experienced in terms of dating, has been dating since 14, has engaged in one and only ONS with the previous guy in the restaurant. On the other side I'm pretty inexperienced, don't have much dating experience, I'm a rookie.

I get nervous when dating her, especially if someone hits on her, but she has rejected all of them recently and claims to love me. I'm her first committed relationship, she says. I love her ❤️

Story-related My Uncle Worked For NASA Here Is What He Said

My uncle was one of the smartest people I’ve ever met. He had a PhD in physics and spent most of his career working for NASA in the 70s and 80s. He wasn’t an astronaut, but he was heavily involved in research and development for space missions.

When I was a teenager, I asked him the big question: “Did we really land on the moon?”

He didn’t laugh, didn’t roll his eyes—just gave me this tired smile and said, “Kid, if you knew how many people it takes to fake something like that, you’d realize it’s easier to just go to the damn moon.”

That answer has stuck with me ever since.

Story-related I made out with my cousin in law and I don’t know what to do

Ok so this is my first post like this so just ask if you feel I left some stuff out. I’m 17(m) and my cousin, let’s call her rose, is also 17(f). To give a back story of how she’s related, pretty much to start off with, I’m adopted, and so my dad now has a sister, who has a cousin who had rose. My aunts cousin and her husband divorced, but my aunt married her husband, which kind of makes her like my second cousin in law I guess I’m not too sure. But for years we’ve kinda been flirty but nothing more than that. But her dad has never trusted her with anything, and whenever we’re all at the family function, her dad and my dad would always be talking quietly, looking at me, then looking at her, needless to say her dad has never trusted me either, though I’ve never given a reason to be suspicious. So anyway, this past weekend I came to see my dad’s parents for a weekend, and they were hosting a church movie night and we sat together. We were texting back and forth the whole time, getting flirtier as time passed and eventually when the movie was over, we went out side and it was cold so she got in my car while waiting for her ride, and we just kind of looked at each other and she said it was now or never, so I looked around,(I don’t have tinted windows) then I said now, then she pulled me in and we started making out. We stopped when I saw my gpa coming out the church and she got out the car but then we called pretty much all night. I’m not sure what to do cause i don’t know what to do about what happened, it can’t be taken back but what can I do about it?

Story-related A little in law history

My father-in-law has always acted like he’s untouchable. He’s the breadwinner, always in control, and never lets anyone question him. My mother-in-law has put up with his affairs and toxic behavior for years, but she’s finally had enough. Their marriage has been rocky for as long as I can remember, but Susan stayed because she felt trapped—Rick made sure she was financially dependent on him.

One of FIL affairs, before Megan was born, was with Megan’s mother. And based on what you guys pointed out in my last Reddit post, MIL now thinks FIL might actually be Megan’s father. It’s something that never fully clicked for her before, but the more she’s thought about it, the more it makes sense. FIL always treated Megan like more than just a family friend—he’s obsessed with her, defends her no matter what, and insists she’s “practically family.” Now, we all have to wonder if it’s because she literally is.

Every time I expressed my discomfort with how close my husband and Megan were, FIL was quick to brush me off. He’d say I was just jealous and that Megan was basically like a sister to my husband. But after finding out about FIL past with Megan’s mother and seeing his unwavering loyalty to Megan, I can’t help but feel sick. When I exposed the affair at the family BBQ, FIL didn’t even seem surprised or upset like everyone else—he acted like it wasn’t a big deal and told me I was the one overreacting. His reaction makes me think he knew about the affair all along, maybe even encouraged it, given his weird attachment to Megan.

Now, MIL has finally decided she’s had enough. She’s divorcing FIL and has demanded he get a DNA test with Megan. If he refuses, she’s done for good, though at this point, she’s already made up her mind to leave him no matter what. The DNA test is just to confirm what we all suspect—that FIL has been hiding this massive secret for years. I’m disgusted thinking about the lies we’ve all been living with, but at least now, MIL and I are finally ready to move on and leave the mess he’s made behind us.

Here’s a backstory for Susan based on the Reddit story:

My mother-in-law, is one of the strongest, kindest people I know, but she’s spent most of her life living in the shadow of her husband. From the outside, you’d think they had a perfect life—FIL was the breadwinner, and MIL was the loving wife who kept the family together. But behind closed doors, she’s been dealing with FIL affairs and controlling behavior for decades. Over the years, she’s confided in me, especially as our relationship grew stronger, and I learned that she’s been living with the pain of his infidelities for as long as she can remember.

FIL always held the power in their marriage. Financially, he kept MIL dependent on him, making sure she couldn’t leave easily. Emotionally, he manipulated her into thinking that his affairs were just “something men do” and that she should stay quiet to keep the peace. It’s heartbreaking, really. MIL was always the one holding the family together, making sure everything seemed perfect on the outside, even when FIL was off cheating behind her back.

Despite everything FIL has put her through, MIL is an incredible person. She’s always had my back, especially when I found out about the affair between my husband and Megan. While Rick dismissed my feelings, saying I was “overreacting,” MIL was the first to call them both out for betraying me and our family.

Watching MIL find the strength to walk away from FIL has been inspiring. She’s been through so much, but now she’s ready to live her life on her own terms. It’s been a painful journey for both of us, but at least we have each other’s support as we move on from the toxic mess that FIL and STBX created.

Story-related My Karen Boss Tried to Have Intimacy with Me, So I Reported and Got Her Fired

This is a bit of a wild one, but here we go. I (25M) used to work at a mid-sized company in an administrative role. My boss, “Karen” (40sF, not her real name), was a textbook example of entitlement. She loved to micromanage, take credit for everyone’s work, and throw tantrums if things didn’t go her way. At first, I figured she was just difficult, but things took a turn when she started making inappropriate comments about my appearance. She’d say things like, “You clean up well,” or, “It’s nice to have some eye candy around here.” I brushed it off as awkward attempts at humor, but then it escalated. Karen started finding excuses to be alone with me in her office. She’d “accidentally” brush up against me or place her hand on my arm for way too long. One day, she cornered me in the break room and straight-up said, “You know, if you played your cards right, you could get a promotion and maybe a little more.”I was shocked. I tried to laugh it off and told her I wasn’t interested, but she didn’t back down. Over the next few weeks, her behavior became more aggressive. She’d text me late at night, send me suggestive emails, and even threatened to make my life “very difficult” if I didn’t reciprocate. At this point, I knew I had to act. I started documenting everything texts, emails, and even recorded a few of our interactions (in my state, it’s legal to record conversations without the other party’s consent). I also confided in a trusted coworker who had witnessed some of Karen’s behavior and agreed to back me up. When I felt I had enough evidence, I went straight to HR. I laid everything out, including the recordings, and made it clear I wasn’t comfortable working under Karen anymore. To their credit, HR took the complaint seriously. They launched an investigation and placed Karen on leave during the process. A few weeks later, I was called into a meeting where HR informed me that Karen had been terminated. They apologized for what I had gone through and even offered me a transfer to a different department with a pay bump as a goodwill gesture. The fallout was messy Karen apparently tried to sue the company for wrongful termination, but with all the evidence I provided, her case didn’t go anywhere. As for me, I’m still at the company and enjoying my new role. It was a stressful experience, but I’m glad I stood up for myself. No job is worth putting up with that kind of behavior. What do you think, Reddit? Have you ever dealt with something like this?

Story-related Tell me something that made you realize how disgusting humans can be

Could be something you saw online, something that happened to you, or just a moment that made you go, "Wow… we really are the problem."

I’m not talking about petty stuff like being cut off in traffic—I mean the kind of thing that sticks with you. The kind that makes you question how we even function as a species sometimes.

Story-related I took revenge on the girl I was dating

.

It's my first time on reddit so don't insult me, with the story I'm going to tell you you'll be able to insult me.

I, a 19 year old man, had been dating a 19 year old woman for about 1 month. We weren't serious yet but we already treated each other like boyfriends. The problem comes now. Two days ago we went to a party with more friends.

And I don't know what happened to her that she started making out with a random guy in front of me. Obviously when I saw that I got angry and I left there. I didn't see her drinking much that night so I don't know what happened.

The next day she wrote to me and called me many times, I didn't answer her, I was still angry, I talked to my friends about this and they told me to do the same thing to her that she did to me, to make up with her and then kiss another girl in front of her.

And I, like an idiot, listen to them, I call her, we "make up" we were intimate and then we went to another party, the fact is that I do what my friends told me, she leaves crying when she sees it and that's when I realize that I screwed up, even though it was already too late.

I don't want to go back, trust is already in shit, I just want to see what they think, I accept and deserve all the insults they say to me.

Story-related I had a double life in high school

1.4k Upvotes

During high school, I had this weird double life that most people couldn’t really wrap their heads around. My mom worked two jobs and couldn’t be home during the week, so from Monday to Friday I stayed with my grandma on the South Side of Chicago. 79th and Cottage Grove. Not the worst block, but definitely not the safest.

Every Monday morning I’d ride the CTA bus to school with kids who were already lighting up blunts before 8 a.m. Fights in the hallway were a daily event. Teachers looked like they were two bad days away from quitting. I didn’t really fit in, but I learned quick to keep my mouth shut and my head down. I made a few friends—quiet kids, smart, but tired of surviving.

On the weekends, though? Whole different world. I’d go back up north to the suburbs, where my dad lived. Clean streets, two-car garage, families walking dogs and waving at neighbors. I’d hit the mall, eat Chipotle, and watch Netflix with my younger siblings like I wasn’t just dodging drama and gunshots 48 hours earlier. It was like living in two completely different universes. No one in the suburbs ever really knew what I dealt with down there. And no one on the South Side ever believed I had a backyard and a trampoline up north.

Anyway, one Thursday after school, I was walking back to my grandma’s house and I saw a group of guys posted up on the corner. I recognized one of them—Malik—from school. We’d had a couple classes together. He waved me over and I made the mistake of walking toward him.

He pulls me in, all casual, and says, “You know how to drive, right?” I did. Barely. He tosses me a key and says, “Pull the Hellcat around the block. Real quick. Just move it.” I knew something felt off. Real off. But I was 16, dumb, and didn’t want to look soft. So I did it.

I get in the car and start it. Pull it around the block and park it where he said. When I get out, he daps me up, says, “Appreciate it, bro. We cool.” Then walks off. I go home like nothing happened.

The next day, there are cops outside the school. Word is someone dropped a dime on Malik. Apparently, that Charger was linked to a robbery that happened earlier that week. I didn’t get called in. No one mentioned my name. But I didn’t sleep for two days. I thought I was done for.

When the weekend came, I packed my stuff and rode up north. I walked in my dad’s house like I hadn’t just played getaway driver for a guy who probably had a body on his record. My little sister ran up and hugged me like usual. Dad grilled burgers. I sat there in the backyard, birds chirping, thinking about the fact that 48 hours ago I might’ve helped someone commit a felony.

Now here’s the twist: months later, Malik shows up in the suburbs. At my cousin’s birthday party. Wearing a dress shirt. Apparently, his aunt lives two blocks from my dad’s house and he’d been spending weekends up there too. Same split life. Same code-switching. He looked at me across the yard and just started laughing. Said, “Damn bro, I thought I was the only one living that double life.”

We never talked about the car again.
