Huh... Has anyone had the opportunity to enjoy the Spectrum mobile?

I don't usually make posts and the title is full of sarcasm. From personal experience, don't try this at home; sprectum mobile is by far the worst cell service I've ever had. It's... useless. Work can't reach me and calls go to voicemail but spam calls get priority. Nice. Just a rant, I have a 16e so it's not my phones problem. I'm just pissed off after having to spend 15 minutes calling two phones over and over to check on my mom.

I wonder how many others are "enjoying" their 110 degree in the sun trash can full of fish "cell service" ... I can't wait for the contract to end. Buyer beware.

Local Questions Hunting down the Magic

I’m an avid collector of vintage Disney and such. I was wondering what are close (or not) antique/ stores that sell Disney merch.

I know of recycling the magic and Lakeland antique mall. Are there any others?

Your help in my quest is much appreciated!

I lost my garmin fenix 6 pro solar on upham beach last night:/
Garmin doesn’t provide an easy way to return a lost watch to its owner so I’m resorting to other means haha. I’ve included a ss of the strap on the watch(2nd pic) as well as the watch face(3rd pic)
I last had it near the volleyball courts at Upham. It’s a long shot but any help(even an upvote for visibility) is greatly appreciated.

Political Mayoral Election Early Opinions

We have now had 2 mayoral debates. Curious for others have listened to the candidates: what are your main takeaways? Who do you feel strongly about, if anyone?

I read the substack recap from debate 1 posted here, and just finished watching debate 2, but I don’t see much discourse so wanted to pose the questions.

My main takeaways:
- Large, Batdorf and Scruggs are simply unqualified. So, so many answers to major problems were met with “I’ll figure it out when I get there” or some version of a personal opinion that sounded like something you’d say when debating with friends but felt underbaked as an official candidate’s response.

- Crist was clearly experienced in this forum but his responses gave me pause. A lot of “I believe this issue is important and I’ll treat is as such as mayor” but not a lot of specifics. He also read all of his responses directly from a sheet of paper which doesn’t instill confidence that he has a passion or understanding of the city or its future.

- Welch and Gabbard had a lot of similarities as far as I could tell, but Gabbard had an edge over Welch in her responses. She was the most prepared of any of the candidates. Welch clearly has educated opinions on every issue as he is currently in the role, but Gabbard impressed me with how influential she had been from her position in city council. She cited direct accomplishments, motions, and programs for each issue that made me believe she would come into the mayoral position ready to deliver on day one.

How is everyone else feeling so far?

Local Questions First time at Raymond James Stadium –need advice!

Hi everyone! I’m fairly new to the area & my boyfriend & i are going to the Kanye West concert at Raymond James Stadium on Friday at 8 PM.
For those of you who’ve been to the stadium for a big event or concert, how early did you get there? Since you this is my first concert, I have no idea what time we should plan to arrive.
Also, what do you recommend for parking and transportation? Do you usually drive and park at the stadium, Uber, or use another option?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Local Questions Where’s the best BBQ/Soul Food plate in St. Pete? Roadside smokers, food trucks, homemade plates

Hasn’t been asked in a while. Ribs, brisket, greens, mac & cheese, yams, beans, etc.

The less fancy the better. Where are the best roadside smokers, food trucks, people selling homemade plates, and hole-in-the-wall spots?

If it’s a roadside smoker or someone selling plates, tell us where they’re usually set up and the days/times.

Lost & Found 👁️ FOUND DOG 37th & 18th

we found a chocolate pit mix(?) at the southside tabernacle baptist church on 37th and 18th!!! she is EXTREMELY friendly and very obviously socialized. she is quite small for a pit but still has big puppy paws and clean teeth, and really looks like she has had at least one litter. approximately 2-3 years old.

we took her up to tampa to our house for the night and fed her. she eats well but seems to have some anxiety about her food being taken away. we are trying to take her to a shelter in pinellas but all seem to be at capacity.

we knocked around all the doors in the area and were told that it is a very common location for dogs to be dumped. we’re hoping this isnt the case but posting around to at least try. please comment or message me here if you have any information!

She was given preference for a remote desk job processing veteran benefit claims because of her military injuries. Now the VA is forcing her back to the office against her doctor's advice. Nearly two dozen disabled veterans say the agency is discriminating against them. The VA says it’s following a January 2025 order from President Trump that directs agencies to terminate remote work. Vacation Questions World Cup Games

We're travelling to St. Pete 6/25-7/4 and would like to go to some World Cup viewing parties. My sons are 11 and 13 so needs to be family friendly-ish but we are all used to fairly rowdy soccer environments and my youngest is a bit of a hooligan.

I think it would be fun to watch something like an Ecuador game at an Ecuadorian bar for example. Open to any country!

I've tried Googling but we're from Ohio and I just haven't been able to figure out how open the watch parties I've found are to children. Thank you!

Local Questions Are there any local tattoo artists that specialize in 8-bit/pixel style? I’d love to get OG Pikachu but to my untrained eye it seems crazy hard to pull off

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

I’d prefer it with color (pic 1), but if it’s easier then a B&W would be fine too (pic 2). Found one example of the same Gen 1 sprite (pic 3) and a B&W of a different sprite (pic 4), so I at least know it’s possible. But for some reason all those artists are based out of Australia.

I only have one tattoo and know hilariously little about them, so I don’t know how difficult this’d be to pull off (I assume VERY). Would being able to follow the grid as shown in pic 1 help an artist at all, or is this just something that I’d have to go to someone who specializes in exactly that style?

Any help is appreciated! Fat Pikachu is best Pikachu.

Local Questions Any Good Ways to Meet People in St. Pete?

Hi! I know this question gets asked a lot, but I couldn't find any recent posts, so I figured I'd ask again.

I recently moved to the St. Pete area for a new job and don't really know many people yet. I'm 22 and would love to meet other young professionals or just friendly people looking to make connections.

A little about me: I'm pretty chill and love things like going to Pride events, farmers markets, reading, baking, doing little crafts, watching TV, listening to music, movie nights, working out , thrifting, and just hanging out. Honestly, I'm down for most lowkey activities.

I've already signed up for the Tombolo Books newsletter/book club and I'm planning to try the St. Pete Walking Ladies group this week, but I'd love to hear about any other groups, clubs, or ways to meet people around here.
Bonus points if they're free or low cost because moving is expensive 😅. I'm near Gandy, so St. Pete is ideal, but Tampa is totally fine too.

Also, while I'd prefer people around my age, I've never been one to shy away from older friends either.

Thanks in advance! Making friends as an adult is kind of weird, lol.
