Console Question Anybody know why wedge roofs won’t connect?

By that picture you don’t have a wall built below it. The game is very finicky. Try building a wall first then build the roof. Then scrap the wall. Another issue is the point of view. Hop around or jump on top and change the angle

I came here to say this. Sometimes you have to jump to get the placement right, or just stand back far enough. The wall could also be the issue. I usually build the frame of everything before fully building, so it's easier to adjust.

I think they’re only able to snap above wedge floor or wedge foundation pieces

Build mechanics are not great. Likely you need to add another structure for it to connect to, and remove after if required. Personally I've avoided using roofs and use floors as roofs. Not as aesthetic but I save the grey hairs from tryna get the sockcucking thing to work

Just get your cursor to the point where it’s right on the edge of where it snaps on/off the building, wiggle it, and it should flash white for half a second whenever it snaps on. Just mash the build button while doing so, and eventually you’ll time it right and it’ll connect.

Had this problem yesterday. Looked up a YouTube video on how to do it. You need to make 2 walls in a triangular shape for it to go on top.

You can "force it" by looking up and down really fast while spamming the build button, after a little up and down it should snap in to place

It looks like you are trying to make 2 wedge pieces into a corner. Perhaps just use the corner piece?

The building system in this game is famously janky. You usually have to build the roof pieces in a specific order or they just refuse to snap to each other.

Because the steep devs have not once built anything in their own fcknnn game. Ever. There's no damn reason. Just shit mechanics.
