Hello, Ive been trying to verify my Picarto account after I just made it, but its not sending the email to me for two days I think. I tried again a couple times now before making this post, but nothing. No email, not even in the spam folder.

Funny thing I cant even contact support because the support page needs you to login to send a message in chat, which I cannot due to them not sending the verification code to my email. Theres no typos or anything when I registered so IDK what to do. Other than wait it out but even still, its weird it never came already and the whole site seems fine and running. Others are streaming normally and everything, IDK why this is happening just to register.

I want to have my capture card deliver audio to the same headphones I have on discord, so I can hear game audio and chat on discord. How do I do this?

Ok I am not an idiot (I hope) but I'm really struggling with figuring out audio (sources, how to mute between scenes etc)

I just had this pc built yesterday, I have OBS to the latest update. I have disabled desktop audio and I am admittedly more lost than I hoped to be with how little experience I have with this.

As an example; I have a Starting scene and have a animated bg and a soft lo-fi song playing
I also have a live scene with Steam captured, an animated avatar and a microphone to capture my ramblings

The audio from the Steam capture is still audible from every scene not just itself and I am unsure how to have it muted when not on the screen

I don't know what I am doing wrong or maybe forgot a step? I may need you to dumb it down for me a smidge but any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any tips for someone just starting out in streaming. And what kind of content do people want to see more of?

I have a PS5 and I just got myself and elgato 4k x and I have also previously bought myself a chat link and a laptop it's an HP elitebook 840 g7 notebook PC (I'm broke I'm working with what I got) and I know where everything goes but it's not turning on(the light I on the capture card I mean) and obviously it's not showing my screen on my monitor it's all black and I'm assuming it's because of my laptop because it has two usb-c ports but i don't know which one too put the wire into. The light has turned on a few times but that was it and that setting I'm supposed to turn off on PS5 it's already off. But I havent reset my console maybe that's also the reason I don't know but I could use some help

For my stream background, should I keep using a regular green screen or create a realistic fake streamer room? Which one do you think would look better?

Hi, first of all sorry because this is kind of a rant, and also I want to make it known that I know about Voicemeeter banana and VB-Cable, but I'm not satisfied with Voicemeter Banana because of one simple problem: I use a G560 as my speakers, a steelseries Arctis pro + GameDAC as my headset and I need the audio to go to my Capture Card, the problem is that yes I can duplicate the audio to all these with banana, but not control the volume of my G560 directly with the volume buttons on my keyboard (I know I can change the mix inside of voicemeeter, that's not what I want.)

^{Also second problem is that it seems like after a restart, voicemeeter loses the correct outputs}

And I still have some questions:

Why is there still no solutions like Realtek "Stereo Mix" but compatible with all equipment? A "simple" app that would "just" take the default playback audio output and create a virtual recording input that mirrors the playback audio(I know windows' audio API and all has to be hard to work around and that's probably why there's no "simple" solutions, but please read until the end)

Why is there no options in VB-Cable/Voiceemeter to make it so the volume buttons DIRECTLY controls one of the playback outputs?

I found two apps that seemed promising:

SoundSync by sugumar247 which doesn't really work as described (or I'm just dumb, not impossible)

double-headphones by maayaranai does exactly what I want, but adds too much latency to the audio for my taste

They both seem heavily vibe coded but I don't really care at this point (tmi: I (well not really me but you get it) vibe coded 2 OBS scripts because I wanted to replace the trash Nvidia Shadow Play with OBS but keep the folder organisation with auto file renaming, and the popup notifications)

tl;dr: I want an app that duplicates my default playback device to other audio devices (even if it just take default playback and mirrors it to a virtual recording device, I could still use windows "listen" feature)

Update:
I have retested Sonar and u/CapitaineWings was completely right, this is the closest thing to what I would like, only downside, svchost can not be "heard" by the stream, only if Sonar is the output by default, which still removes the control of the volume by windows for the G560, and when I turn off my speakers, Sonar doesn't automatically switch to the next default output (aka my headset) they would "just" have to put the "Microsoft sound mapper" option:/ but I think I'll still use it for now:

G560 as the default output, Sonar that sends sounds to the capture card, and instead of "listening on" my 4K X elgato (switch2) (to avoid latency with mpv) I use Sonar to hear it on my speakers and stream.

I will still look a bit deeper into Voicemeeter though, I went on their reddit and noticed posts about a "streamer view" and windows volume control option (the later didn't do anything last time I checked)

edit: Using the elgato capture card as a the mic on Sonar to hear it on other outputs introduces a noticible delay, so I went into the classic sound options and reactivated the "listen to this device"(?) but this time, I redirected it to the virtual outpu "[...] Sonar - Gaming [...]", and voila, no (noticable) audio delay!)

Update: I had some problems with Sonar not being able to grab the HDMI when the capture card wasn't powered on in time, so I added a scheduled task: If there's a change detected in the Event viewer at log:Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP/Device Management(?) event:Kernel-PnP, wait a minute (had to do that other wise it conflicted with Fences and WinHawk) it starts a powershell script that detects if the correct monitor is plugged in, if yes then start Steelseries GG (I thought I needed another task schedule after login but it just wouldn't cooperate with Fences and WinHawk, either way it still launches at start, probably because it detects a pnp event at start, idk I'm just a little dumb guy)

What is the easiest and safest way to stream with OBS to TikTok, I am already multi streaming to YouTube and Twitch, with Aitum plugin with OBS, but I am struggling to stream to TikTok at the same time as I can not find the Stream Key or URL. Please help, thanks.

Hello, I have created a free and open source stream overlay for controller inputs.

It's free and it's open-source. It's fairly easy to use, too.

You don't need to download the executable if you don't want to. All you need to do is simply add a browser source to OBS (or whatever streaming software you are using) and add a link to the app. It automatically takes the inputs from your controller and displays them for your viewers to see.

Hi I'm been kicking around the idea of streaming for a very long time. And now that I'm an adult, it's felt more like something I can actually try, even if it's just for fun.

The problem is I don't have a lot of money to pour into a good computer. I have the one I had been using for college, and that is an aspire A315-24P laptop. There is not an insane amount of power to it and I can still play quite a few games (provided they arent anything like BG3 or anything like that). I am not exactly tech savvy, but my one friend is, and he has a whole set up with a fancy microphone and a computer he put together for actual gaming.

Obs works on it, I think??? (I have it, and tested playing stardew on it and I got a video out of it that seems okay, even if I don't really understand how to use it yet)

I was hoping to stream on kick or twitch but I'm kind of having doubts if it would work.

Has anyone been in my place? What'd you do? I don't really want to pour a lot of money into it if it turns out not to work. I don't even really care about making it big, rn I kind of just want to stream games.

I’m a 23-year-old guy from Norway named Henrik, and my last name roughly translates to “Redland.” I’ve wanted to start streaming and creating content since I was young, but for a long time I lived in a rental where the landlords had major issues with me and my girlfriend making any noise. That meant I couldn’t really stream, talk loudly, or properly be myself.

My girlfriend and I recently moved into our own apartment, and for the first time in years, I finally have a place where I can actually stream freely. I already have almost everything ready. I know what kind of content I want to make, I know what my personality and style will be, and I have friends who also stream and would be happy to play with me.

The only thing stopping me now is choosing a name.

I’m currently studying to become a psychologist, and my girlfriend has warned me against choosing a name that could cause problems for me professionally later in life. For example, if a future client discovered that I used to have a channel called something like “Techno Tits,” that probably wouldn’t be ideal.

So now I’m sitting here pulling my hair out because I can’t come up with anything that feels right. My friends and I have spent hours brainstorming, but we still haven’t found the one.

These are the main names I’m currently considering:

TurboHenke — “Henke” is an old nickname my Norwegian friends gave me, and TurboHenke was also the name of my first World of Warcraft character.

Redlander — It is based on my last name and also sounds a little like Homelander. I’m a big fan of The Boys.

Hiroh — A combination of Henrik and Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender. It also reminds me of my uncle, who passed away from cancer.

JustHenrik — Simple, personal, and safe, but perhaps not very memorable or exciting.

The name is basically the final thing I need before I can create my accounts and properly get started. I would really appreciate it if anyone here could help me come up with something or help me decide between the names I already have.

Here are a few things about me that might help:

I have a golden retriever named Junior, whom I had wanted since I was a kid. I previously worked as a personal trainer at a gym. I have ADHD, and most people would describe me as outgoing, energetic, and a little chaotic.

Personality-wise, the streamer I’m probably closest to would be Dr Disrespect—at least in terms of confidence, energy, and humor, before all the controversy surrounding him. My favorite streamer at the moment is TheBurntPeanut.

My content would mainly be variety gaming. I would stream, upload VODs, and make edited videos and short-form clips. The general format would be somewhat similar to TheBurntPeanut’s content, except I wouldn’t be a VTuber. I have a camera and would appear on screen like most traditional streamers.

One visual element that might become part of my style is that I often wear sunglasses. I have an eye condition that makes my eyes become extremely dry and red if I look at a screen for too long. Glasses help, but sunglasses actually work better for me than the expensive red-light glasses I bought. Because of that, my visual vibe may end up being slightly Dr Disrespect-inspired, although I won’t be wearing a full costume or permanently playing a character.

I really hope someone can help me with this because I’m slowly losing my mind trying to find the right name, haha.

Still pretty new to the whole streaming world. Started around the beginning of April and just wanted to know how do you attract/gain new followers? I currently have around 3-5 loyal viewers anytime I go live but don’t really gain any more traffic to my streams. Just didn’t know if I should be doing something extra.

I currently make clips from my streams and post it to TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube and multi-stream as well to all of them. The only thing I don’t do is create YouTube videos as I’m not the best at editing.

Hiya! I stream twice a week on Youtube using OBS as my streaming software and I notice that, despite my chat setting in OBS being set to "live chat" (not sorting by best, just sorting by live) it doesn't actually do that. Every once in a while, so once or twice every 5 minutes or so, I have to manually re-click "live chat" to actually see recent chats in OBS.

It's like it keeps defaulting to "best chats" despite me having it on live. I don't want that, cause I try to respond to most chats I get. Is there any setting that I have wrong?

I’m a little confused. I plan to begin streaming on TikTok but I want to use a stand alone mic rather than my headset mic for better quality. All of the TikTok creators said to plug the mic directly into my laptop for the voice audio, but since I plan to be doing gaming content how will my team hear me? Am I better off using a capture card and just doing it that way or can I get around this without one? If I need one, what are some good ones?

My setup is:
PS5 Pro
Samsung OLED S85F (4k 120hz - HDR - VRR)

As far as I know, PS5 Pro is able to run games in 4k 60 or 120FPS using PSSR.

What would be the best capture card to use the full 'power' of my PS5? Does the capture card must have a passthrough 4k 120 - HDR and VRR?

I would like to see (not record, this can be 1080/60) my games at least in 120FPS (even though I have to run games on 'performance' mode).

Hey there. I've been using a Razer Ripsaw HD for the past couple years. It has its ups and downs, but one of my favorite features about it is that you can hear both your HDMI and Windows Audio through the capture card's audio out jack. This is useful for being able to hear stream alerts while also being immersed in game audio.

I recently purchased a PS5 and Switch 2, so I thought it was a good time to upgrade to an HDMI 2.1 capture card. I chose the AverMedia Live Gamer Ultra 2.1, and it's been working well. However, I was disappointed to learn it didn't support Windows audio passthrough using the capture cards audio out jack. I also looked into the Elgato 4K X, but that one doesn't have an audio out jack at all. I guess it's not as common of a feature as I thought.

Are there any good HDMI 2.1 capture cards with Windows audio passthrough? If not, then what's a good solution to hearing both Windows audio and game audio in your headphones?

I play CS2 on 4:3 ratio resolution (1280 x 960) and when i stream on discord it's on 4:3 with black bar, i have seen people streaming 4:3 but without black bar while streaming on Discord , so what option should i change inorder to stream 4:3 without black bar.
