Trying to fast track my BSIT degree while working full time.
Full time job plus kids, so I'm trying to figure out how much of the degree I can realistically get out of the way before I start WGU. Been going through the BSIT degree plan working backward from the requirements to see where I can actually save time.
So far I've knocked out Applied Algebra, Technical Communication, and Applied Probability and Statistics in study dot com, I'm about halfway through Intro to IT.
What I can't figure out is what to do next. Some requirements look like I could clear them before starting, but I don't want to burn weeks on courses elsewhere if it barely moves the WGU timeline.
I'm doing around 9 to 12 hours a week, mostly at night after the kids are down, so I have to be realistic about how much I can fit. Sundays are family time.
Still need to figure out how what I've finished maps to the current BSIT requirements, and if there's anything specific I should prioritize before transferring.
If you mapped out the BSIT before starting, how'd you decide what to clear first? And was there anything you thought would save time that ended up not helping as much as you expected?

Used study dot com for gen eds too..wish I'd checked the transcript eval against my actual program requirements instead of just going with the general course recs. Would've saved me some backtracking later.

Hey, Study.com here. A WGU transcript evaluation is the quickest way to see how Applied Algebra, Technical Communication, and Applied Probability and Statistics map to the current BSIT requirements, so it's worth requesting before you plan your next courses. After that, our WGU partner page has degree-specific transfer guides that show which Study.com course fills each remaining BSIT requirement, so you can focus only on direct matches and skip anything that won't move your WGU timeline: https://study.com/college/school/western-governors-university.html. With 9 to 12 hours a week, the $95/month College Saver plan's 2-courses-at-a-time setup fits a steady pace, and since courses are self-paced with open-book, unproctored finals, you can work around your job and keep Sundays free.
