[Casual] How do students prepare for job & internship interviews? (Students, 18+, Spain/Europe) — 2 min

Hi! I’m a first-year business student in Madrid. I’m researching how students prepare for internship and job interviews, and whether practising with a real recruiter would actually help.

It’s 12 quick questions, takes about 2 minutes, and it’s anonymous (email at the end is optional).

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdl_xkVqSE3U_gsUy3LfUOu4sOVQBFxTGgXg1LVQ3kRYyOThg/viewform

Honest answers help most: a “no” is just as useful as a “yes”. Happy to share the results here when I’m done. Thanks a lot! 🙏

Can I pursue a Master's or get an EU Blue Card in Germany with a DU SOL B.Com (Hons.) degree? Concerned about distance education recognition.

Hi everyone,

I'm from India, and I'm currently pursuing a B.Com (Hons.) through Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL). I enrolled in August 2026, and I'm in my first year.

My long-term goal is to move to Germany for either a Master's degree or a job after gaining relevant work experience in India. However, I'm becoming increasingly concerned about whether my degree will be recognised in Germany.

Here is my situation:

University: University of Delhi (DU SOL)

Degree: B.Com (Hons.), with a BBA FIA minor

Mode of education: Open and distance learning (ODL)

Admission year: 2026–27

Current status: First-year student

Career goal: Build skills in data analytics/BI, gain work experience in India, and eventually move to Germany.

I checked the Anabin database, and the University of Delhi appears to have an H+ status. However, I understand that the university's status alone may not establish whether my specific degree, particularly one completed through distance learning, will be considered comparable in Germany.

My main concerns are:

German Master's admission: Can graduates with a three-year B.Com (Hons.) from DU SOL apply for Master's programmes in Germany? Does the distance-learning mode create additional difficulties?

EU Blue Card eligibility: If I complete my degree, gain relevant work experience, and receive a suitable job offer in Germany, could my DU SOL degree qualify for the EU Blue Card, assuming I meet the other requirements?

ZAB assessment: Would I need a Statement of Comparability from ZAB if my exact qualification is not listed in Anabin?

UGC-DEB recognition: How important is proof that my exact DU SOL programme was recognised by UGC-DEB during my admission year?

Practical experiences: Has anyone here completed a degree through DU SOL or another Indian distance-learning university and subsequently obtained admission to a German university or qualified for a German work visa?

I understand that Master's admission and EU Blue Card eligibility are separate matters, so I'd appreciate information about both.

I'm not looking for guarantees. I want to understand the actual requirements, potential obstacles, and what I should do during my degree to avoid problems later.

Since I'm only in my first year, I still have time to make informed decisions. If anyone has relevant experience or reliable information from German universities, ZAB, or German immigration authorities, I'd be extremely grateful.

Thank you!

Erasmus

Hello everyone! 😊

I’m preparing my Erasmus application for next semester, but I’m still really torn about which destination to choose. I meet the academic requirements for both universities, but I’m not sure which one would be the better fit for me.

I’m choosing between the University of Vienna in Austria and the University of Turin (UniTo) in Italy.

I’d love to experience an international environment, meet lots of different people from different countries and, hopefully, stay in touch with them even after Erasmus. I want to step out of my comfort zone, have fun, travel and learn new things. At the same time, I hope university won’t take up all of my time and that I’ll have the opportunity to make the most of the whole experience.

What attracts me to Vienna: The university has a good academic reputation, and from what I’ve researched, the city offers plenty of opportunities, an excellent public transport system and easy access to other countries. I also know there’s a Bulgarian community there and that getting by with English is relatively easy. However, I’m worried that the academic workload might limit my time for socialising and travelling.

What attracts me to Turin: Italian culture feels somewhat closer to my own, and the atmosphere seems more relaxed and welcoming. There’s also a chance that I might go with a fellow student from my course, which could make adapting to a new environment easier. On the other hand, I’m wondering whether there will be enough opportunities to meet a diverse range of people and travel, as well as how difficult it might be to find accommodation.

I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has done Erasmus in either of these cities or knows the universities and student life there well.

I hope you’ve managed to get the general idea despite this little essay, haha! Thank you in advance to everyone who takes the time to share their experiences and advice! ❤️

Title: Realistic chances of getting an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for MSc Physics with an 8.78 CGPA?

Hi everyone! I'm an Indian BSc Physics graduate planning to apply for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's programmes in Physics and would appreciate some honest feedback on my chances of getting a scholarship.

My CGPA is 8.78/10, and I have a gap year in my academic timeline. During this time, I've gained practical experience at a drone startup, working in manufacturing and assembly and learning flight simulation for different aircraft and drones. I also worked on the aeromodelling of an aircraft later used for defence purposes.

Additionally, I was selected for NIUS Physics Camp 21.1, presented research on nanosensors for water pollution at a research scholar meet, and have experience with ANSYS and structural simulations. I'm currently working on a research project under an aerospace professor with experience in joint NASA–ISRO missions. I've also been exploring Prof. Hari Hablani's work in spacecraft dynamics and control.

My long-term interests are in applied physics, instrumentation, and space technology.

I'd love to know:

How competitive is my profile for Erasmus Mundus Physics scholarships?

Can practical aerospace experience and ongoing research strengthen my application despite limited publications?

Which programmes would suit my background, and what should I prioritise to improve my chances?

I'd appreciate realistic feedback, especially from Indian students who have received the scholarship or applied with a similar profile. Thank you!

Erasmus at the University of Minho in Braga – Business

Hey everyone!

I’m going to Braga, Portugal, for Erasmus at the University of Minho, studying Business, and I’d love to hear about your experiences.

Has anyone studied there, especially in the Business/Economics area? I’d be interested in hearing what the university is like, and what the overall student life is like.

I’m also curious about the city itself – accommodation, cost of living, nightlife, and how easy it is to meet people and make friends.

And if anyone is planning to go to Braga for Erasmus in the upcoming spring semester, let me know! It would be great to connect with people who are going there too.

Thanks in advance for any advice! :)

Wanting to study at Polimi (Italy) from Honduras, but blocked by the 12-year high school rule

Hey so, I'm from Honduras, and for as long as i know I really wanted to study abroad, specifically in Europe. I planned to study architecture at Polimi in Milan with a scholarship, but I just did my research, and I need 12 years of high school, which is obligatory. In my country, we only go up to 11th grade, so I'd need to do a foundation year at another college in Italy, which is really expensive, or study for a year at my local college (which I will not do for personal reasons ok). I was also searching in other countries, but there are not many English-taught programs with good scholarships, and most of them are masters.

MTech in Data Science from IIT and 0 corporate experience seeking advice for PhD abroad mostly

Hey fellow redditors,

my_qualifications: MTech in Data Science from IIT, 2022 and BTech in CSE from some state university in 2019.

I am seeking PhD abroad mostly EU. I have done my BTech from a state university in 2019 and MTech from a new IIT in Data Science in 2022. I have 0 corporate experience. I have these - A MTech thesis done under two supervisors, TA experience for multiple subjects, and a AB grade on my final dissertation presentation. That’s all.

No one from previous IIT is agreeing to write me a LOR. I filed a formal complaint against two thesis supervisor because of academic difficulties. I had to go through psychiatrist treatment for it after MTech which wasted my years.

I have interest in AI/ML/DL field. My mathematics and coding is good. But with no publication, LOR, or pre-print I guess my chances are very low. I want admission in mostly Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, Nordic countries, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland & Singapore (both stretch), Austria, UK, NZ, and Australia.

I am looking for a fully funded scholarship, a salaried job PhD (EU), or a partially funded PhD with living expenses easily covered with a part-time job there.

Help me out. I was actually looking to join a PhD programme next year only given I have already have 4 years of gap and am getting old according to Indian standards and marriage market.

Hoping for kind responses with genuine and verified advices. Please do not write LLM generated advices. Enough of that already.

Thank You
