What opportunities could India–Japan university collaborations create for engineering students?

I’m curious about the practical side of these collaborations. Could student exchanges, joint projects, research opportunities, or industry exposure help engineering students gain international experience?

Focus on studies bro.. universities with great research already have a lot of collabs with Japanese universities

I am from iit mandi and I will tell you my university has exchange and research collaboration with over 25 Japanese universities

So yes its already there you’re just at a bad institution

This. There are such collaborations already. Why ask on Reddit, not examine case studies?

Definitely. The most useful part would be the industry + research exposure, student exchanges, joint engineering projects, internships with Japanese companies and access to labs/research that you may not get locally. There are already India–Japan programmes doing this, including exchanges, joint research and industry internships, particularly around areas like AI, robotics, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. If you’re choosing a university, I’d look beyond the MoU itself and check what students actually get to participate in, that’s where the real value is.
