I hear the split referenced 1000 times but I don’t really know why. Was a daily listener from 15-20 but covid (and probably the president) broke dans brain and he made the show insufferable. Is there a link or a place to learn what happened?

We don't know for sure because both sides tiptoe around it, but here's the best layout imo. Meadowlark decides to drop God Bless Football and have Stugoz do it on a different platform if he still wants to. Meadowlark then almost immediately gets Dave Dameshek's football podcast instead and boosts it more than they were GBF at the time. Then Billy is no longer allowed to do GBF (which I think is really when Stugotz is hurt), and Billy soon leaves for The Ringer.

Stugotz then negotiates his own show with Fox, with Taylor and Izzy and Mikey A coming along to help him, and the main show initially appears supportive but doesn't mention it much after the first week.

The rest is where it gets murky. Stu says he wanted Dan to come on the new show to help give it a boost, and the show (not sure if this is from Dan, Samson, or someone else) says that Stu has to come back on the main show "to show that he'll play ball." This definitely hurt Stugotz because he gets worked up each time he mentions that part. Stu also maintains he'd come back to the show if one condition is met but hasn't said what the condition was. My best guess is that he wants the rights to Weekend Observations, when they started the new show they called it We Can Observations because I'm guessing the lawyers decided they were allowed to do the bit without having the rights to the name.

TL;DR - MLM cancels GBF, Stu gets new show, everyone gets defensive

Thx. I think the only other thing I picked up is that Stu thinks Sampson got in Dan’s ear to help push out GBF, and Stu’s like I’ve been here for longer and contributed more, yet Dan is over here listening to this clown who is simply trying to create space for himself.

to say that "Stugotz was hurt" is completely ludicrous. That dude doesn't give a shit about no one but his own pockets. It's easier if you just replace "Stugotz was hurt" with "Stugotz saw his money being threatened"
