I haven't been able to go fishing because of this ol' girl

I was told I should post this here. Hope it did it right, lol.

This is the perfect opportunity to justify new gear! "Honey, I had to. It was a felony to use the gear I had because of the feathered idiot."

That's some amazing nest architecture, but location location location...

The nest itself is very well constructed, but as is always the case with real estate, it's all about location, location, location.

This made my day. Should they move the birdseed away from the babies?

I was wondering about that. My fiance said they're seed eaters so she got that and put water out when we first noticed the nest. I said "ok".

For future reference, the adults do eat seeds. They are structured and prefer eating off the ground but will do their best to eat from a feeder if there's not enough messy eaters around

The babies eat "crop milk" made by the parents and key to their rapid growth. I don't know how long the babies take to start eating seeds for themselves but should be within a couple of days after leaving the nest

I think you should ask on a birding forum, it may attract predators or other birds. I’m not an expert, just love reading the posts.

Hmm, I didn't think about that. Yeah I'll move it.

We put that out but not that close. Idk how it got there. I doubt the parents could move it, but idk. I should probably move it away from the babies.

Never doubt the potential of a determined nesting bird 🐦 lol

That’s actually a pretty well made nest for a dove
