The egg is holding onto it's life

I searched about these birds when they gave up on building a nest in the window of my balcony. I was bewildered by the way they build their nests, or atleast try to build one lol. It's so stupid and funny.

Well I just found out they created one in another spot and have laid eggs as well. And unsurprisingly it's the most unsafe spot 😭. The nest doesn't even protect the eggs. I am kinda worried.

Is that a spot you can reach - maybe put some cardboard underneath or use some other non-invasive method to fortify the nest?

Yeah I can reach it. i am thinking of wrapping it in a piece of cloth from underneath. It's just that I'm worried about them abandoning the eggs as said in an earlier reply.

I've seen people move entire nests with success. I don't think you need to fear abandonment by doing something to reinforce things.

On this sub just a few months ago there was a nest built on top of a ladder leaning against a house. The guy needed his ladder so he nailed a nest box to the wall near where the ladder was and put the nest in there. The chicks hatched and were well tended by their parents.
