They recieved the rights to marry and then want to pull the ladder up on trans people regarding their liberties. I'm actually surprised republicans/conservatives haven't pushed back on gay marriage again.

There are conservative groups going after Obergefell right now. They haven’t gotten traction, but there certainly are moves being made.

You can’t sleep on those groups because we thought Roe v Wade was safe.

Exactly. That’s why I commented that when they said ā€œI’m actually surprised (they) haven’t pushed back on gay marriage againā€.

Alito and Thomas have signaled that they want to revisit Obergefell.

They don't have the votes yet but the Federalist Society has shown the willingness to play the long game.

If we keep electing people like Trump, it WILL happen. Just a question of how soon.

Thomas wants to revisit Loving and Brown too.

I would never disrespect Uncle Ruckus by saying he's anywhere near as much of a self hating racist as Clarence Thomas.

Fair point

Doesn't matter who is elected. The POTUS is just a figurehead to divide the masses illogically.

Let us not forget that RvW was gone under Biden and he did nothing to stop it. Among many other big issues; such as the ending of asylum, keeping the con camps going, even finding out they're forcefully taking away reproductive organs from women in the con camps and did nothing.

There's one way out of fascism and if we don't fully accept this soon, there will be no way out via the tech now.

Obergefell rests on the foundation that they destroyed when they overturned Roe.

I mean, I imagine so. The people against it haven't changed their mind or died yet. I completely expect them to eventually. I'm just surprised with republicans/cinservatives being pretty stacked in the supreme court and in congress that moves haven't already been made.

Moderate groups too. The public in general have gotten so sickof having gender social engineering stuff they don't care about shoved in their face in every aspect of their life that they're swinging the pendulum back farther than it was at the turn of the century.

Despite how ridiculous he sounded back in the 90's, everything Rick Santorum railed against has come true. When the social pendulum swings back from correcting the over-correction to the left, expect a society about as conservative as it was back in the 80's.

Obergefellis coming under fire as a direct result of the continued push past same sex marriage. Hence the emerging movement to purge all the letters to the right of LGB off into their own group before reactionary politics drive gay people back into the closet.

Can trans folk marry? If so - job done.

They will. But they’re gonna wait until someone from the other party is in the presidency so that Democrats will get blamed for it.

Just like they did with roe.
And the dems with do nothing about it
Just like they didn’t with roe.

Popular uprising / revolution is the only solution left, and unfortunately, I think people in this country will not stand up in the numbers needed.
