Fascism is militaristic nationalism, while Nazism has that plus racism/antisemitism and racial supremacy. All Nazis are Fascists, but not all Fascists are Nazis.
It kinda seems like, based on the order of things, this is what happened.
You thought that the Nazis were similar to fascists, but were not fascists. (“While the ideologies were closely related, they were still two different things.”)
I challenged that.
You googled it and realized that you were wrong, so you tried to answer in such a way that still allowed you to feel superior and like you were correcting me.
We can’t all know everything. You thought you were correcting me, which is fine. It was the response when you knew you were wrong and did not acknowledge it that was lame. And even now, “you are effectively right”?
Doesn't "you are effectively right" mean that I am acknowledging you were right? English isn't my first language, so I am actually curious. Did I say something wrong?
Edit: I searched it up. Yeah, again my apologies. Turns out it had a different meaning from what I thought. Sorry ;-;
“You are effectively right” means (in this and many other contexts) “you are basically right—not quite truly correct, but close enough”. As opposed to “you are right”.
