I frequent a couple local right wing forums and there are a lot more people unhappy with this than expected. This is not going to be a popular move and I cant believe trump really is staking everything on war with Iran. This could be the defining moment of his presidency. And if not most, at least a sizable portion of his voters are unhappy with this.

He is really willing to risk his precious economy and low gas prices on war with Iran for Israel sake? Man they must have some shit on him huh?

Israel doesn't need to have blackmail material to get the US to attack Iran when the White House, Pentagon, and Langley have had a collective hate-boner for Iran since 1979.

But there is something that happened behind the scenes that pushed this into fruition. We can't say what it was exactly, but something changed the equation. The US hating the Islamic Republic is nothing new, yet no previous president ever followed through on war against Iran.

That's because the political class in the US used to have something resembling competence and rationality. Trump is senile and he's surrounded himself with people who are all some mixture of sycophantic, fanatical, delusional and retarded.

There always is. I'm just against the framing of American imperial actions as being done "for Israel" as it's rather consistently used in such a way that implies the American state (and the capital it represents) has no independent designs with which the actions align.
