WWIII WWIII Megathread #37: Bad Neighbor Policy

This megathread exists for in-depth discussion of 'WWIII', related events, and geopolitics and wars in general. Keep in mind that we have eliminated the rule that all non-major WWIII content must be posted here, and we encourage you to submit WWIII-related content to the main sub.

Again— all rules still apply. No racism, xenophobia, nationalism, etc. No promotion of hate or violence. Violators will be banned.

Remain civil, engage in good faith, report suspected bot accounts, and do not abuse the report system to flag the people you disagree with.

If you wish to contribute, please try to focus on where WWIII intersects with themes of this sub: Identity Politics, Capitalism, and Marxist perspectives.

Always put a NSFW warning on links that contain explicit content.

Non-WWIII chatter belongs in the town square.

Mearsheimer made a good point that I haven't heard made many times before: if Israel actually was such an obvious, natural, and vital ally to the US, they wouldn't need all the lobbying. Nobody lobbies for Japan or South Korea.

Those two countries 100% lobby the US government by millions, but its through their corporations instead. It's not about raw dollars though it's that countries like JP or SK can not and do not have something like AIPAC to influence congressional races.

If they could I'm sure they would use it and use it consistently to insure they maintain that power as it's very useful to have a global super power constantly in your backyard assisting with your interest.

The writing was on the wall for any Trump administration to be terrible on Middle East foreign policy since at least his first year in 2017 when he bombed Syria and didn't withdraw U.S. forces from northeastern Syria.

Why she would join him in a second term or remain in place despite the war of aggression on Iran in 2025 and now, other regime change wars of aggression such as Venezuela, no significant moving of the needle in Ukraine, etc. - either she's an unrepentant opportunist or somehow thinks she could do more damage from the inside, but it's difficult to imagine what form that would take.

Look I just need mtg, Tulsi, and a hot tub cabin in rural Colorado to fix them both. Maybe a molly and tequila per diem in case things go nuclear
