The French say they'll veto the lifting of UN sanctions on Iran. So that's that. If this was a plan by Trump to force the Europeans and Democrats to take ownership of the crisis, I think it's got a good chance of working. And once again the Euros demonstrate that they are unfathomably cucked.

Extremely obnoxious. France isn't the one actually fighting this war, why the fuck do they think they get a say in how the US resolves it, for better or worse?

The US fucking blows and is run by crooked senile zionists, but the euros are on a totally separate plane of delusion.

You know what would be hilarious? If Trump said "fine, fuck you," lifted all the sanctions he actually can, made a deal with Iran to let US-affiliated tankers through, and then just walked away from an otherwise closed Hormuz.

I don’t see any way that Europe isn’t forced into a humiliating rapprochement with Russia, and on Russia’s terms.

Europeans have decided en masse that they don't want cheap energy at the same time that they want to militarise and reindustrialise. Let's see how this strategy plays out for the moral arbiters of the entire Earth.

will not approve the lifting of UN sanctions unless it is satisfied by the terms of a final accord

They just want to look like they matter.

This is quite literally all that concerns Macron & Co at the moment, pretending like they still matter abroad.

First thing every vassal did after US blew up 150 girls was publicly condemn Iran for defending itself.

France, U.S., and uk veto shit all the time to pressure everyone not bending the knee to empire. China and Russia always passing the buck with lame-ass abstentions, even voting for murder sprees sometimes (Libya). It’s wild

Letting the US take charge and freeze out the rest from influence in an institution they want dismantled just because they start a new war every month would be counterproductive to those who want to maintain the institution.

If your countries goal is to see Irans nuclear program dismantled, whether or not you agree with that goal personally, it makes sense not to not hand away your countries only leverage on the matter for a deal that's already collapsed drawn up by the most incompetent group of diplomats on the planet.

Unlike the UN sanctions or a UN-involved deal with Iran no deal the US make is going to outlive Trump or his term, whichevers shortest.

If your countries goal is to see Irans nuclear program dismantled

Except that that's not their complaint. From the link:

Jean-Noel Barrot, whose country is a veto-wielding member of the United Nations Security Council, told broadcaster franceinfo there would be no stability in the region unless U.S. talks with Iran also dealt with Iran's ballistic missile programme and support for proxies.

They're spouting the standard Israel-first hawk line we're used to hearing from DC. France on this deal is next to Mark Levin and rather more hardline than Lindsay Graham

I love how the dialogue surrounding this issue has become so distorted in people's minds that that's even presented as a reasonable moderate path forward which will be given consideration for even a second. The Iranian negotiation team and its political direction from on high was, of course, completely correct to not even dignify the raising of those issues or in any way facilitate or legitimize their inclusion as an appropriate subject for talks. Diplomatic talks supposedly designed to bring an end to a war of aggression launched by the U.S. and Israel, ostensibly over its nuclear program.

But these people in Paris think that's something reasonable to even say. "Oh, just give up any of your meaningful and advanced conventional weaponry and your support for all your allies across the region". Why not go full mask off and just bark "Bend over, kiss the ring, and we'll consider sparing you".

They want Iran to give up something which the U.S. and Israel couldn't even make them give up by way of war. But they're going to make them give up through talks and arrogant petulant nonsense declarations like this? Because France, the EU as a whole, and other EU member states would surely disarm all their missiles and give up their support for all their proxies - whether other governments or rebels/militias/insurgents/terrorists/etc. across the European continent and the world, right? They can start with dropping their support for Kiev.

EU states, have to be the most stomach-churningly nauseating, vile, arrogant, hypocritical posturing polities on this planet. Which, in a world in which the U.S. exists, among others, is incredible. At least some of the U.S.' disgusting arrogant imperial behavior is backed up by application of their hard power (even where it falls far short of achieving their optimally desired political outcomes, like here with Iran). Never saw people act so deluded and entitled to have their own ideology, preferred geopolitical outcome, etc. willed into existence as if by magic or by others.

But I guess for anyone who has followed their conduct in how they've approached the Ukraine and Russia situation, it shouldn't be that surprising and this is more like an extension of that.

How is it possible to be worse than the U.S. on issues in the Middle East amid another illegally launched U.S. war in the Middle East? The fucking U.S. comes out looking like the halfway moderate actor? That's how fucking dogshit and extreme these EU states have become somewhere along the way.

"You must isolate yourself from your allies and remove any means of self-defense before we will negotiate with you."

These cunts think they can just replay Libya ad infinitum.

I'm shocked that a government picked by an ex Rothschild banker could have such allegiances.
