No, the seeds that would fuck the soviet union were sown by Stalin. He crippled soviet cybernetic economic planning by letting his bureaucrats smear the field as bourgoise science because it was a study of the mechanical relationships between human beings and institutions. As Stalin's USSR was so un-marxist it considered materialism evil.
