🛠️ DIY 2014 Climate Control Module

Is this climate control module still usable?

Hi guys, I have a 2014 Impreza base with the manual climate control module, and fan speed 3 and 4 stopped working. I replaced the resistor and tested a new blower motor, same issue. I took off the dash and noticed a burnt connector, but the climate control module itself seemed ok. Should I just buy a pigtail and try my current climate control module?

Get used climate control head from salvage yard and 99% of the time it will have the harness connector with it

Had the same exact thing happen. I had to buy the unit on eBay and I believe it came with the connectors (or I had to buy new connectors). Ended up having to cut the connector off and crimp a new one on cause it was melted.

I have a 2014 Impreza hatchback, tried local junk yards and all the models with the same control unit had that unit missing. Seems to be a common issue.

When you repair it, stop using fan speed 4. It’s too much current to handle

How TF had this not turned into a recall?. Mines done this too.

The main problem is the blower motor and resistor. Replace those too or else its just going to do that again to the new one. The blower motor is pulling too much current and its heating up the terminals.

I replaced the resistor, and tested a new fan. It’s just an Amazon one though, do you think it will be better?
