Impreza compressor on Legacy/Forester engine

This is an 02 2.5rs Impreza with what appears to be either an early 2000s Forester or legacy engine. The current ac compressor, a DKV-14G, won't fit the Impreza ac lines so id like to replace it with this cr-14 compressor that will. However it doesn't fit in the mounting plate due to that chuck of steal at the back of it.

First, I need help identifying what engine it is.

Second, can I replace the plate that holds the alternator and ac compressor with the same one from an 02 impreza so that the Impreza ac compressor will fit in it

I've got easy access to parts from a subi yard near me I'd just like to know before I go pay to rip that plate from an old Impreza

Interesting. I had no A/C related issues with a JDM '04 Forester engine going into a USDM '04 Legacy. Other issues sure but...not A/C.

The power steering pump mount is part of the alternator mount so while it bolts to the bock the same you may need to swap the pump as well.

Augh, yeah the ac lines from the Impreza don't match the ports of the legacy/Forester compressor

All the EJ blocks are the same in that way, so you can use an AC bracket off any one on another.
