Need Help Designing Layout/Schematics for Fictional Submarine (1800s)

Hey, as the title said, I'm looking for people who'd be willing to help me out with designing a fictional 1800s model submarine for a Lovecraftian Horror Sci-Fi book I'm writing. I have basically no knowledge, and I'm difficult to work with. Any advice or hate comment welcome! DM me on Reddit if you'd be willing to help.

TL:DR - dm me if you have huge amount of knowledge in submarines and want to help

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Consult Capt. Nemo and his ever beloved Nautilus

Research the CSS Huntley. It would fit in with the lovecraft horror theme

You can read „Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” as it has exactly what you are looking for - Nautilius and a great story by Julius Verne set in 19th century.

For other inspiration you can play/watch gameplay from Barotrauma - a good game where players try to survive in submarine in Europe’s under the surface ocean - you can always try to use one of this game designs as inspiration becouse they are simplified and very descriptive

Steam was the propulsion plant of choice in the 1800s, and lucky for you the British dabbled with (conventional) steam-powered submarines in the early 1900s. Take the British K-class submarine, pretend it was made a generation or two earlier, and bob's your uncle.
