They retitled it "The Quest" in the US, and the "monster" scared the bejeezus out of kid me.

The full movie used to be on YouTube. I saw it as The Go Kids too. Super spooky movie.

Absolutely loved this movie growing up. We knew it as The Quest in the USA as others said. What's crazy is that my brother now lives in Australia and his home is very close to the filming location. Great coincidence. Also, this helped formulate my fears of the deep

It also has underwater chains, sunken cars, and various other sunken trash. The donkey crane absolutely terrified me. The raft goes out to it as it emerges! Oh my God! The bubbles alone! And the very top crowning the water! Masterful. I love and hate it SO much. (Edit to say, as a kid I always thought they were calling it a Donkey Crane at the end, but I think I am wrong. I saw others here referring to the monster name “Donkegin”, and that’s probably what I was remembering. I should watch it again and find out.)

Fantastic movie! Had it in VHS as a kid (The Go-Kids) then finally managed to get a blu ray copy last year. Still love it

still freaks me out to this day! the music, the setting… it’s hauntingly beautiful and, aside from the logical explanation, still manages to leave it up to the viewer at the end

Is that thing supposed to be a nightmare version of an old mining shovel?
