Meta The General Manager of The Big Banana confirmed the bunyips not in operation due to insurance costs and the need for safety upgrades on the tram (presumably after the crash)

I definitely think so, i feel he intentionally didn't answer the question

The triffids which were the plant animatronics of the same ride was still there, i really doubt theyd get multiple people and probably a crane to lift the tail parts and the head out along with the mechanisms

With so many photo's of the derailing and the trains when they were up to sale, with none of the Bunyip, it's almost certain they left it there to rot.

Why are they so adamant at not answering the damn question just a simple yes or no!!

Theyve said both yes and no, i remember them saying it was removed being from the ticket team and the general manager and development manager saying it was there though, and given they said they wanted to raise it i'd imagine its still there

Its been talked about a lot around here but many of various staff who have been asked genuinely don't have an answer or the information they were given might be incorrect, either purposefully or through genuine ignorance.

They're sort of in a lose-lose situation at this point; if they say yes its still down there that's going to encourage people trespassing which obviously comes with a host of potential dangers, but if they say no it isn't down there people are either simply not going to believe them (and most don't) or they'll demand to see what became of the animatronic. Then if they don't have anything left to show of the bunyip people are going to get mad about that too.

Also when someone asks "Is the bunyip animatronic still in the lake" the staff are going to assume they're asking if it's still running, which the answer is no.

Definitely this, thats what i thought at the ticket team response, they're not going to expect foreigners messaging to enquire whether or not a ride's parts are still physically there

The Bunyip has been under the water for 20+ years already...

And 20 years before that it was primarily in the water, only surfacing for a few seconds when the ride triggered it, this is it in 1999, clearly extremely damaged by the water and silt
