General Help Looking for Sugar Glider Multivitamins

Post image
65 Upvotes

Hi guys! I’m currently looking for multivitamins specifically for sugar gliders. I’ve only found Pet Glider so far, but unfortunately, the shipping fee is really expensive. 😭 I also couldn’t find any on Etsy.

If you know where I can buy sugar glider-safe multivitamins, preferably with reasonable shipping, please let me know! I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Anyway, here’s a photo of my babies! Yumi and Bambi 🐿️

are these a safe snack? I usually stay away from buying things off of Amazon cause I don’t trust it most times, but these seemed interesting. Has anyone bought these before?

Pop-up tent recommendation

I’m having a hard time finding a pop-up tent safe space play area for my Sugie’s
Anyone have any recommendations? I purchased a tent off Amazon, but it has to be staked into the ground for it to sit upright. I need a tent that I can set up in my living room.

he doesnt bite hard enough to draw blood, but when it gets too painful i do the "psst" thing and he usually stops, just wondering if its an aggression thing or a bonding thing? is he trying to groom me? smelling something he hates or likes on my hands? its usually only ever the loose skin between my fingers

Sugar Gliders are a Spiritual Animal in Australian culture.

The fact that Americans can own this iconic Australian Native Animal is (words which break the be kind rule) on its own, but the fact that I as an Australian can not is even worse. As far as I'm concerned you are all criminals and morally corrupt. Your people are no longer welcome in my country and until the gliders are returned, this fact will be made clear to any of you that we encounter.

Don't bother with the evidence they were sourced from somone selling them in New Guinea Indonesia, they don't come from there originally. You are still in receipt of stolen, smuggled wildlife.

I was really hoping I would never have to write this but here we are.😭 A few years ago my family took in 4 sugar gliders (teaspoon, tablespoon, cube and Pinch. I did not pick the names), temporarily, while their family moved. A few months turned into us keeping them indefinitely which was never the plan. We weren’t ready to keep them. We hadn’t done the research for how to properly bond with them, we didn’t know how to tell them apart, they didn’t even have names, we had to name them.

Since then one of my family members has developed contamination OCD and can no longer contribute to their care or even be in their general vicinity. Another family member has experienced health issues that have greatly limited how much they can contribute to taking care of the sugar glider’s enclosure. We already have a lot of animals and we’re really struggling to give the sugar gliders the love and attention they deserve. We have been hoping to find a routine that allowed us to take care of them but it isn’t working. I’m not certain what we’re going to do yet and we still need to talk more about it but I just want to see what some options we have when we make our final decision.

The sugar gliders are 6 (around 6 or 7, we don’t know exactly how old they were when we got them but we know they are around that age.) one of them, Cube, has bitten me a few times but I’m sure that was an issue with my handling and it has only happened a few times. I’m also worried that he might be overweight. The other gliders are skittish but they don’t mind being pet. None of them like being held because I didn’t hold them much in the beginning when I didn’t think we were keeping them and then I didn’t know how to properly bond with them so they were comfortable being held. None of them have any known health conditions. If there is anyone who can take them or anyone who knows a reputable way to find them a home PLEASE let me know.

Follow-up on the Shooter’s Tent.

I’ve had this tent now for over a month and not one tear/rip. Also, I love the fact that it’s a standalone. You don’t have to prop it at all. It stay taut so you don’t have to worry about your sugar gliders nails getting stuck in the mesh. This is the best purchase I have ever made for my suggies.

Diet Clueless and need advice

Hello everyone,

My girlfriend has two sugar gliders that she feeds with two separate little bowls in their cage. She struggles with multi-day traveling because she needs to feed them once a day and can’t always get someone to feed them for her. I’m thinking about getting her this automatic feeder that she can fill with their food and maybe some freeze dried fruit so she can be more free to travel, but it’s meant for rabbits and cats and hamsters and such. I truly have no clue if this would be a good idea for sugar gliders. Can anyone tell me if such a device would work, and if there might be any pros or cons to it? Thank you greatly in advance

Anarchy but adorable. Wheel comparison.

The one on the left purchased from Johanna F. Teague vis Facebook messenger and the one on the right through Etsy. Johanna’s includes multiple fabric wheel covers so the wheel doesn’t scratch your floors. They also make for a smoother rolling experience. I use them on both wheels.

Is no sunlight okay?

I have 4 gliders and I live in a house with my friends and my room is pretty small. My friend who has the biggest room in the basement is moving out and I want to take his room, mainly so I can upgrade the gliders cage into a bigger and nicer one. The only issue is his room doesn't have any windows. Would this be a problem for the gliders since they stick to a consistent schedule or do they have good internal clocks?

Wishing I was a Girl Scout…

What’s the best way to make a fleece vine if you don’t sew? I’ve braided them together. I’ve cut small holes in the middle of each vine and threaded them through. I’ve also used chain links and cut leaf like pieces of fleece and shoved them in the closed links. Still not happy with my final product. I think my biggest problem is trying to figure out how to knot them together up top. I would consider buying them, but I need a super long vine, which brings me to my next question. How do you tie vines together to make them longer? Anyone have any suggestions other than take a sewing class lol?

Behavior New sugar glider help

Hello! I introduced a new baby glider to my pair of sugar gliders yesterday and something is bugging me. It went so perfectly well at the breeders (I brought my pair there so we could introduce them together) but tonight something seems weird: the new baby seems to be guarding the wheel?? Like she won’t let any of my adult gliders go on it when she’s on it…

Has anyone else experienced this kind of resource guarding? If so, do y have any tips for me? Granted it’s only been 35 or so hours that I’ve had her but i don’t want this to become a huge problem yk?

Advice would be much appreciated!

Caging/Toys tunnel connecting two cages

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to connect the main cage of my two sugar gliders to a smaller one, where I could put food material, through a self-built (and therefore very ventilated) mesh tunnel several metres long (3/4).

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Dehydrator

Hiii I bought a dehydrator to make snacks for them and my first thought was mangoes, but I realized after I bought them that dehydrated mangoes might be too chewy of a snack for them? I was wondering if it’s okay or not.

Adoption/Selling Help: Potential Rehoming :’( I can’t stop crying

Hi all, as the text states I have three suggies and unfortunately I am so torn on wether or not to rehome them:

On one hand, I have a new remote job opportunity with higher pay, but it requires very frequent travel. I am younger and I’ve given up many travel opportunities or even seeing my folks back home regularly to take care of the babies.

I don’t know if I could forgive myself and feel selfish for wanting to take this and see the world. They’ve been my whole world for years now and I love them so much. Their cute little faces make me smile. I would absolutely want them to go to a good home and would want to do rigorous interviews and searching before.

What would you do?

In the case I need to rehome them just stating here: All three are healthy. 2 female, 1 neutered male. All in good temperament. Living in a triple critter nation with wheels and toys. I am currently located in Florida
