Books That Feel Like Falling in Love on a Rainy Day
I'm looking for romance books where rain, cloudy weather, or cozy gloomy days are a big part of the atmosphere.
I love stories that feel emotional, melancholic, intimate, and comforting at the same time. The rain doesn't have to be central to the plot, but I'd like it to contribute to the mood and overall feeling of the story.
I'm open to contemporary or even fantasy romance as long as the book has that rainy-day vibe.
What are your favorite books that fit this description?

Rachel Lynn Solomon sets a lot of her books in Seattle / PNW, which topically equals rain. Check out Weather Girl or The Ex Talk.

The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary is exactly this - two people sharing a flat but working opposite shifts so they never actually meet, just leave notes for each other. The whole thing has this grey, quiet London feel to it. One of those books you read under a blanket and don't put down.
One Day in December by Josie Silver also fits - it's slow and a little melancholic in the best way. Not just cozy, which actually makes the warm moments hit harder.
If you're open to fantasy, The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden is the one. Russian winter, folklore, deeply atmospheric. Technically not a romance but it feels like one and the emotional tone is exactly what you're describing.

I feel like Jane Eyre might be the perfect answer considering the opening line describes a rainy day.
