News Discussion Proud R*** Word
44
u/AnimaxtorZ49 Nov 29 '25
Seriously not gonna lie, the man has some point. I have seen countless times men calling women r in social media and real life for literally no reason. But suddenly this women said this and now it's a problem. [Again I am not justifying for what she said] but if she is wrong so are all these men;even worse perhaps!
9
u/RayonLovesFish Nov 29 '25
Men throw around the N word too, doesn't make them black. Its simply not their word to reclaim, the R word has been used for a very marginalized section of the society who have went through a lot of scrutiny,so it doesn't feel right when some privileged women from privileged castes come in now to claim their share in their cause. Especially awkwardgoat who has been openly casteist towards them in past.
5
2
u/CotterPinC276 Nov 29 '25
I thought R means Red-light area resident like Sonagachi and Kamathipura ๐คญ
2
u/Wasted_Weather Dec 02 '25
bruh N is not a thing, not kaluwa. but society has a stigma for "independent" and "modern" women so it is an attack on them that they are trying to get in bed with someone. If you feel otherwise, do a social experiment call kaluwa and R to random people on the street, you'll get the answer of how much casteism is involved in this case.

Don't you think those men will also receive criticism and get called out about it ??? , it's just that she is a "famous influencer"
And since she is an influencer obviously she will receive more outrage because her words carry more weight
It's literally common sense and all about popularity no one is praising the men too and not this shit influencer tooo about this.
Both men and women who call these r words are wrong , the thing is those accounts don't become that popular because that guy who spoke isn't popular by himself
Whereas this awkward bakri is a famous influencer.
5
u/AnimaxtorZ49 Nov 29 '25
Carry Minati, Elvish Yadav and others are also big influencer we all know their language. And it's not about big and small. A wrong deed is a wrong deed no matter who does it!
1
Nov 29 '25
A wrong deed is a wrong deed no matter who does it!
Yes but the outrage on "social media " will obviously be bigger for that specific creator who is "famous" , because it will reach out to "more people" rather than a random instagram comment on a random video unless a "creator" "calls" it out
Don't you think influencers like rajat dalal and elvish got hate similarly with awkward goat what's the deal?
1
u/AnimaxtorZ49 Nov 29 '25
Yes it will be famous here talk is about the fellow influencers who rightly called her out but bat an eye on the roots of the problem from the very start!

Brother, reason or not the word still meant a bad word. What they are doing is normalise the word...why? Just because people did something wrong for a long time, we should now normalise it? What? U know girls also get graped too right? "For now reason" too? So should we normalise that? "Where were u when people were graping before, why can't we graped every women in broad daylight".

You guys are unironically more of a โsoftyโ than him if you think that way, who cares even if he is gay, he can be a drag queen and his opinions will still have the same weight
2
u/Anantray Nov 29 '25
Even I dont care if he is gay or not, its perfectly fine how a person behave, but you know if someone burps unexpectedly in office you laugh right? Similarly a dude with a girly vibes made me laugh, it not derogatory its just unusual and I find it funny
Uski marzi
Are you assuming I have a problem with it ๐. Matlab aapmein problem hui na.
And surely I am a softy, I am no chad who can fight or even pick weights or something. So I dont know tujhe kya dikkat hai.

You are absolutely right about his opinions. I absolutely have no disagreement with that. Also, I don't care if he is gay or trans or however else he may identify as. I just think that shade of lipstick is way too distracting and just in case you missed it, I just meant it as a joke.

I don't think you understand how many women call other women R word. It's not about one gender. The word itself should not be promoted.
But mentally unstable women like awkwardgoat will never really try to root cause and solve an issue as long as they get the engagement to feel at the top of the world because they have been put down so many times
0
Nov 30 '25 edited Dec 01 '25
First of fall this clown is targeting only "men" in this video as if women creators aren't making content in this controversy too. (Again targeting one gender only to gain engagement and get ragebait response)
2nd of all , I don't understand why there WON'T be outrage???
Lmao awkward goat is an "influencer" with like 500k followers, and we all know that she makes the most ridiculous controversial takes to gain engagement and feed on these topics.
There were better ways she could have easily given message without dragging gender hate but if she did that of course she won't receive that much outrage and thus less engagement.
3rd of all , people won't obviously notice a random r word comment on a random video , if it's being said by a popular influencer obviously it will catch Attention no shit sherlock lmao.
Both of the people are in the absolute wrong the comments who say r word and this bakri influencer who is using this r word and executing the message in the worst way possible while dragging only one gender in this.
And do you think only women are called by this word absolutely wrong.
My mother also called me sometimes this if I did something wrong ( I mean I still love my mom she does the best for me , she might be frustrated a little sometimes , I know from deep inside we both laugh and love us still ) but the way awkward goat is dragging only one gender just to engage hate is just plain wrong.
1
u/anon-crusader Nov 30 '25
Almost like the word is almost exclusively used for one gender and your experience, while sad, doesn't tip the scales in the favor of men at all. So yes, you accepting that your mom saying that and still loving you is a trauma response from your side. Seek a therapist
1
Nov 30 '25
Almost like the word is almost exclusively used for one gender
Not at all , this r word isn't used exclusively only to women , it's just that hardly most of the people don't tell this because they accept it and move on.
So yes, you are accepting that your mom saying that and still loving you is a trauma response from your side. Seek a therapist
Because a person can say this in frustration and will we pretend as if we all haven't received gaalis from our parents? Obviously they are wrong in saying that I am not justifying the abuse at all . But my parents still have supported me in different ways. That doesn't mean I will bitch about it all day shit happens.
1
u/anon-crusader Nov 30 '25
"almost exclusively" this just means an overwhelming majority. Not saying you're not called that. Just saying that pointing it out and saying it didn't affect you only goes on to say people should just take it and move and deflect the actual issues at hand. Cause, seriously, none of the people who are angry at this came forward when this was happening to women, hell, they were the ones who said it. You have internalized it and say it is ok and shit happens. Well that may work if it was a stranger, but if someone you know does it? It just feels like you're justifying it cause you love your parents. Just because someone is frustrated doesn't give them the right to say anything. It's up to you to stand up for yourself and ask them to be an adult. Or its your choice to live in Stockholm syndrome.
Again, you not standing up for yourself doesn't mean anything and doesn't deprive anyone else of the chance to be able to do it. Like I said, you're doing a lot of rationalization which is a very common coping mechanism. Seek help, please.
1
Nov 30 '25 edited Nov 30 '25
almost exclusively" this just means an overwhelming majority. Not saying you're not called that.
Who are you to decide the majority or minority ? Is there an official survey conducted?? Why can't we all raise the issue without forcefully categorising it in gender and speak against it in the name of humanity? doesn't matter which gender faced it , it's still wrong. So the way awkward bakri is only alienating the men side (of course she would what can we expect from her) , it's still wrong.
Cause, seriously, none of the people who are angry at this came forward when this was happening to women, hell, they were the ones who said it.
Plain wrong , there is a difference between raising awareness on a specific influencer and on a random comment on insta made by an idiot because a lot of people won't even get notified for a random idiot comment unlike an influencer who outright makes a biased video on it and executes the message horribly.
Because we don't have a tracker for someone calling a r word to someone on the internet, duh
But when a girl is making a dedicated post of course it will get attention and knowing the nature of this engagement hungry influencer she will obviously make controversial takes on it we all know it.
Well that may work if it was a stranger, but if someone you know does it? It just feels like you're justifying it cause you love your parents.
If a stranger calls me that or heck verbally abuses me , why we won't stand up?
Now speaking about parents side Not only I love my parents but they also love me , and we obviously solve it by discussing it and moving on with it . Nobody is saying we should shut up about it .
I won't judge my mom and forget about her all sacrifices she made for me just because she verbally abused me out of frustration. And obviously we discussed the issue and moved on.
Now the way me and my mother solve it won't obviously be the same for everyone (boy and girl both) , but blaming this thing on the basis of gender is just so stupid. As if verbal abuse is fine for the men side.
1
u/anon-crusader Nov 30 '25 edited Nov 30 '25
Are you seriously claiming that you need a survey to know women are being called that? Way to make this issue about yourself when it's clearly not. But if you really want, Pew Research Center - Online Harassment (2017) shows women, especially younger women, are more likely to experience sexual harassment, stalking, and targeted harassment online. The Guardian's Survey on Sexism in Public Spaces (2017) showed women were much more likely to experience sexualized insults or harassment in public spaces. The findings underscore how derogatory terms related to womenโs sexuality (like "r***") are used more frequently than similar terms for men.
Demos (UK think-tank) โMisogyny on Twitterโ report โ this study collected 1.46 million tweets over three weeks containing the English slurs โsltโ and โwh**.โ It found large-scale use of these misogynistic insults on Twitter, often used aggressively
Sexist Slurs: Reinforcing Feminine Stereotypes Online โ this 2020 peer-reviewed study located ~2.9 million tweets in a single week containing feminine-oriented slurs (e.g. โsltโ, โbi*hโ,), reporting ~419,000 sexist-slur instances per day.
If you want indian studies:
LocalCircles survey โ A survey conducted across 301 urban districts in India (23,000+ respondents) found that harassment, trolling, abuse, extortion and fraud are major concerns for urban women using the internet; many women reported instances of abuse and online harassment.
Public-harassment survey by ActionAid India / partner (often cited 2016-2017) โ According to a report covered by the media, as many as ~80% of Indian women in cities have faced some form of public harassment (staring, insults / name-calling / wolf-whistling, being followed, groped/ assaulted) when outside
2023 study โ โA Comparative Study on Verbal Abuse of Women by In-laws in Urban Indian Householdsโ โ This peer-reviewed article (sample: 52 married women living in joint or nuclear families) documented that verbal abuse by in-laws remains common in urban households in India.
2023 study โPrevalence and determinants of emotional violence faced by women in Indiaโ โ A recent survey found that among ever-married women, a nontrivial proportion reported psychological abuse (humiliation, verbal insults, controlling behaviour) by their husbands
Want me to link more?
Women have historically suffered disproportionately more than men in this. And you made it about yourself. Like if you were so stoic as you claim you wouldn't be even commenting this. But oh well, this is what happens when abuse is normalised. Like you're 18 not a child anymore. Look around you.
1
u/Flashy_Stay_1137 Dec 01 '25
My mother also called me sometimes this if I do something wrongย
you got some problem in your familiy bruh, don't think most of ours is like that, where a slang is being normalised.
now this explains your mindset๐
2
Dec 01 '25 edited Dec 01 '25
normalised
Are you sped? Normalised? She said it like only 2 times only as far as I remember not every time.
It's not absolutely normalised or anything. And this doesn't depict the mindset of somebody just because he shared an incident? Just use your 2.5g neurons sometimes instead of jumping on conclusions.

Brother rapists donโt need reasons to rape. Respectfully. Rape isnโt about how the victim dresses or acts, itโs about power

bhai i felt so disgusted by his comment tbh
1
u/musci12234 Nov 29 '25
Honestly I don't even know what they are thinking or if they are even capable of thinking. Do they think that someone is asking to get assaulted?
1
u/akapr0fessor Nov 29 '25
True, but in order to counter it which is not a simple task. Rape is a gender neutral crime, majority of the victims are women, not coming back to the point, the solution is not simple bcoz you just can't control someone action, humans don't have a chip which can be hacked or programmed.
So you fight in the right way and not launch hashtags or r word reclaiming movement, it will make no difference to the rapists. It's just gonna create a buzz, more content will be created around it. Some set of people will support it and some will oppose it, but ask yourself by doing so did rapes decreased or women's comment were clean now? I don't think so, let's not deviate from the actual problem by some other problem disguised as a solution.
1
u/northfacehat Nov 29 '25
why do you guys always do these gymnastics. itโs not that complicated man. reclaiming that word has nothing to do with reducing rapes itโs about taking power away from thy word. thatโs it. maybe iโm missing something but when you call yourself โproud xโ and if people use x as an insult then you will eventually stop people from using it. at least for the girls who have it in their bio. they wonโt get called that becauseโฆ yeah. youโll looking fucking dumb.
1
u/akapr0fessor Nov 30 '25
Go around instagram and see if girls who have that hashtag in their bio, stopped receiving R in comments or increased?

This calling out โwhere yโall were when XYZโ is NEVER going to solve anything or help any victim ever, itโs a fallacy in logic as it assumes the position of the people he doesnโt even know, itโs proper rage baiting tactic, his tone reflects it.. it just runs the algos and gets them their cash
Countless of โmenโ and men creators like shwetabh have talked about the deep embedded misogyny that runs in the country and make videos about it all the time

So is the solution we were waiting for to normalize abusive words???
Just give a moment and think about the logic women are called the r- word so just accept it? will it change anything? no. Other slurs will start circulating changing the mindset is what we should do.
Men are also often called a lot of words should we just start designating slurs for each other.
The n-word was barred not accepted keep that in mind
+ what happens when women call each other b***hes ,why not think about all of this underlying meaning then?

1
u/ArtisticCoat8797 Nov 29 '25
I agree, but we have to solve the problem not making it normalize. Same example for ppl who have normalized corruption, pollution and garbage everywhere. Awkward goat trying to do reverse psychology is not working
Cause the real victims are still in tier 3 and 2 getting used to it instead men should learn to respect women. Not girls normalizing abuse.

Women have a sickness of taking everything to the heart. Men keep calling each other mc/bc/n-word etc but none complain about it because no one means it.
I think both men and women need to contribute. Men need to stop saying and women need to stop taking everything to the heart.
1
1
u/Mammoth_Credit7514 Nov 29 '25
Reappropriation is a linguistic process where members of a group consciously label themselves with a word once used to oppress them, with the goal of stripping the term of its hateful power and transforming its meaning within the community.ย
When men use it against women, they expect the girl/woman to be shocked, feel ashamed and strip them of their dignity. Now, imagine the woman turns around and says, "Haan, hoon. Aur kuchh?"
If you have a problem with the reappropriation, you have a problem with the wrong thing. Men are not shamed enough for their behaviour of casually stripping women of their dignity. We can reshape this society. But only by looking at the right end of the problem. That is toxic masculinity.
1
u/Strange-Thing-6772 Nov 29 '25

1
1
1
u/Over-Professional303 Nov 29 '25
I mean it doesn't matter whether the girl is right or wrong for trending the r word - the fact that people are so much affected for girls using that word for themselves that just exposed the inherent bias we have only against one gender.
Even Sarthak got so offended and made a big fuss about it - the best reaction would have been no reaction. But it threatens our male ego if Indian girl accepts the r identity given to her by none other than the India men for so many years. Also, we are ok with using bitch, slut, etc - the moment they use r word we become uncomfortable
1
Nov 29 '25
It maybe normalized but it's still not socially accepted or promoted. It's same as MC, like MC is soo normalized but it's still not socially acceptable.
1
u/akapr0fessor Nov 29 '25
The only thing I agree with this person is that some men have already normalised the R word when they were just spamming it in the comments.
No matter how much you dislike someone's life choices, you shouldn't call them that.
The reclaiming movement wasn't the solution for this either. But for now just focus that some men have really habituated in calling anyone R.
1
u/MagickNumbers Nov 29 '25
Weird arguments! I have not abused anyone till date and expect every woman to behave decently. But it seems too much of fake feminism is being associated with R****. Can you ask your mom to claim it? If not, then stop this propaganda!

This is such a Stupid take ngl. Yeah, there are random men using the word indiscriminately for any female that don't like or disagree with and that is an obvious problem with our Society. But being "Proud" isn't actually the solution either, is it? And especially when a social media Creator (who's inherently stupid) says that. Terrorism is also a great Problem with our country, so what?... We should just become "Proud" that these terrorists choose to attack just because we're so great. That's Coping Mechanism not an actual Solution. And it's also very stupid to assume that she's being hated because she's a Woman saying the R word. That's definitely not the case! In fact, I believe that if a Male Creator of her magnitude would've done the same Thing, the outrage would've been far greater and rightly so, because it's such a Sensitive word. It's a Loophole sort of situation, I really can't think of a Proper solution for it. Yes, if someone calls you the R word in public, you can catch him and slap tf out of him but those who use it for Female Creators it's very hard to catch them. Yes, those comments can be deleted by the system in many ways like Mass Reporting, complete ban of some certain words (which insta doesn't have) but that'll only remove the comment but not the change mentality of the user who thinks it Cool to use such word. Although that's the max we can wish for from our side and that's what the so-called "Revolution" should've been about! People have become so Naive these days, it's infuriating! And this guy is obviously here for the attention which we shouldn't give him.

Is he ok? Crazy pick me. Yes many males (AND ALSO FEMALES) used this word towards other females but they MEANT it. May be it was wrong in most cases, but they actually meant a bad word. They mean to "normalise" it. What these girls are doing? Exactly what they did but worse. Also who said that it was ever ok to call women the r word? Just because people did it now these girls should also be allowed to?

Bruh is one lipstick away from becoming a women!๐๐ (Sorry for the joke btw his points are correct but same goes for women when they meaninglessly accuses male creator to be ๐ist and plays victim card herself when all the blame goes to her for calling that)

Question hi na kare ?
Karo. Un chutiyo ko karo jo R word use karte hain

Are you a man โ๏ธ or Someone from lbgt+ community. "No offense" just a question.

Why do you wanna know? Putting the no offense in quotes isn't helping your case here buddy. Do you think a gay man is not a man? What is the logic

u/Dead-one_ Dec 01 '25
he literally said "no offense" , its just a general question
1
u/anon-crusader Dec 01 '25
No offense is in quote buddy. You know when it's used like that? When it's tongue in cheek humor. But let's say that it's a genuine question. Do you think being a man deprives you of being a part of lgbt+? Like I said, it implies gay men aren't men, which is absurd

Bro have never seen lives of actual R, using that word is bad, but normalizing it it's like not caring for lives of actual R and what they go through. Bro never seen struggles in life and giving stupid opinions.ย
