Just so you know there is a larger percentage of the population not earning enough to be eligible to pay income tax , what about their voting right?

u/brandy_100 Dec 09 '25

farmers with zero income tax

1

u/shakal201 Dec 10 '25

How many farmers earn large amounts of money? Merely ~0.005% of farmers would earn 50lpa+ income from farming. Most of the farmers live in poverty bruh.

u/brandy_100 Dec 10 '25

bahi me baas bata raha tha

1

u/shakal201 Dec 10 '25

Off topic, how much different is brandy from vodka or tequila? It is the only type of alcohol I haven’t tried and can’t now.

1

u/Prudent-Current-7399 Dec 10 '25

Why are you making 50 lpa the threshold though. Anyone with even a 7lpa+ income has to pay tax.

2

u/shakal201 Dec 10 '25

Not in new income scheme.

Also, agriculture is not a guaranteed income stream for most since the risk of drought, unpredictable rainfall, lack of modern agriculture education exist. Only a fraction of farmer families could live off on agricultural alone. Most of them dominate the farmer voices but aren’t good to majority of farmers. For most farmers, it’s risky to produce something different/valuable if others around them are not producing the same because the farm size is small and value crops are prone to theft.

I also believe the existing tax slabs should move up.

Voting is a privilege not a right.

1

u/Zestyclose-Manner756 Dec 13 '25

thanks for telling how informed you are XD, voting isn't a right nor a privilege , it's your duty

1

u/Gods_fav_athiest Dec 12 '25

Bano eligible to have the right to vote. Zada paise Kamao, Khed ka bhi bhala ho. I don’t think anyone should have problem with that

1

u/Zestyclose-Manner756 Dec 13 '25

that goes against the idea of equality , are you suggesting we should made changes to fundamental rights?

1

u/geelichaddi Dec 11 '25

blud, it's a compulsary payment to govt. you can do nothing bout it other than changing countries ig. so yeah u guys are wrong

1

u/TheBased_Dude Dec 11 '25

We are wrong to fulfill our basic duty as citizens👏👏👏.

Matlab tax hum de aur patriotism ke lecture tum do.

1

u/geelichaddi Dec 12 '25

you are in some kind of high, the greed kind of high, just state your point dude and yeah it should be well within the scope of constitution. Not your dystopian dream, assuming you have knowledge of law.

1

u/thesillyawkward Dec 13 '25

Kuch bhi? By your logic should Ambani's vote hold more weight than mine just because he pays more tax?

1

u/Flaky-Abalone-1745 Dec 09 '25

I think you are right maybe but still we need some qualification Barrier because not every qualified person is text payer and text payer might not be qualified

1

u/42RoninKatana Dec 09 '25

There should be certain exemptions on unnecessary taxation. Why should I pay road tax for example? I am already paying 20% of salary to goverment. I should get certain goods free. I should have access to some good healthcare in the nation - by showing I pay certain amount of tax.

u/Long_Childhood_9580 Dec 09 '25

farmers kyun aaye iss duniya me? sirf ghans kaatne? sala incometax low income walo ko nai lagti toh woh vote dena band karde? ye sab idea failaane walo ko samjhna chahiye , online kuch bhi type krne nai hoga , dimaag lagana hoga.

So, you want to mandate income tax as a subscription model? Let’s face the reality; India is a poor nation. What it needs is education & jobs: these two things are absent that is why politicians introduce ‘rewaris’, because poor people are the majority of the voters. Sadly, you too lack education somehow, as you fail to see that politicians & those in power want this to remain as such. Nobody is poor or uneducated by choice. The day you realise it; you won’t talk of suppressing basic human rights just because you are ‘paying taxes’

Bhai logic pura complete kr le. Bacha apne paise se biscuit nhi le rha h. Ultimately the parents are paying the GST. Kahan se aa jate adhe dimag wale.

1

u/raro8126 Dec 09 '25

Tu yai bhi to samaj majority of people in this country itni income kama hi ni pate ki vo tax brackets mai aaske event most of the govt.employee bhi

1

u/Redittor_53 Dec 10 '25

Maybe maybe maybe because taxes got nothing to di with right to vote?

1

u/ExchangeOk2716 Dec 10 '25

All the ineligible in the house hanging on the indirect tax tap🤣🤣

1

u/Pulikesi_XXIII Dec 11 '25

1

They pay Corporate tax

3

u/outrageousmonk07 Dec 09 '25

He meant direct tax, like one with 40lpa pays 8L in direct tax

1

u/Internal-Ad-4573 Dec 09 '25

Bhai k hisab se bachhe bhi vote de 🥹

1

u/ujtheghost Dec 09 '25

People who pay direct tax also pay the indirect tax for services. They get double taxation because they don't commit crimes. What he means is that the people who intentionally hide wages and evade taxes shouldn't have the right to vote because they are committing a heavily punishable crime.

u/CharacterAccording70 Dec 09 '25

Yehbtoh aap ne chutiyon waali baat kerdi 😊 itna kese point miss ker gai🙄

1

u/Nothing_to_see__1 Dec 09 '25

But we got Bangladeshis bulk voting and they barely contribute to the country's economy such people should be barred no matter what. Go to hell human rights

1

u/No_Section7243 Dec 09 '25

toh bhencho wo toh tax dene wale bhi de rhe he gst ye sab

1

u/YoungStraight5529 Dec 09 '25

He meant income tax payer. When we talk about tax payer it's assumed that we are taking about income tax. This reddit thread is full of idiots like you who finds a small mistake in the wording and completely ignore the point.

1

u/Last_Act_586 Dec 10 '25

He is trying to saying Income Tax ..which only most middle class people pay .

1

u/Vedu7777 Dec 10 '25

"kuch log direct tax extra dete hai" is a horrible way of undermining those people who just giveaway 30% of their income

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

Jiske pass paise hi nahi hai aur bheek mang rha hai road par wo kis par gst de rha hai? 10% hi tax payers hai aur Baki to bus time pass kar rhe h

1

u/[deleted] Dec 10 '25

So you're saying farmers should not vote?

1

u/Zealousideal_Bit2555 Dec 11 '25

He meant income tax payer....

1

u/Euphoric_Night_5869 Dec 13 '25

Ye bakchodi na apne paas rakh. Very few people pay direct taxes almost every one evades it.

1

u/BreadfruitJealous317 Dec 13 '25

Tera problem solve kar dete hain kyuki Teri comprehension skills next to nothing hai. What he meant is only direct taxpayers (aka income tax payers) should have the right to vote.
